Many years have passed, but can we tweak a certain quest regarding Lothrandir? (Spoiler Alert)
It's been more than ten years, but it bugs me even today, since it's possibly the only situation where the game directly contradicts the books.
The Grey Company met with Aragorn after he and Theoden returned from Isengard in the books, while in-game they met with Aragorn as they were heading there. While I do understand that the writers wanted to "kill two birds with one stone", getting to Isengard AND saving Lothrandir, it still goes against the writings of Tolkien. I was wondering if there's any chance/possibility to tweak somehow that part of the Epic so it stays faithful. I'm not sure how to be honest. Could Halbarad stay behind for a while? Could he or Aragorn send someone to check (alongside us) and then we catch up?
I honestly don't know but I'd like this to be seen in the future.

I hear you but sincerely doubt they'd change anything at this point. They had wanted the contrivance of having players go save Lothrandir while the whole Voice of Saruman business happened, which is one of my favorite moments in the books, and I was very shocked they didn't want to dramatize that important moment or have us see Gandalf break Saruman's staff, etc. So, I hear you, and I wish they would revisit that business. It would've been good to just go north to Isengard with Aragorn and company, do that, and then have it turn out that some of the Dunedain came north in secret to look for their friend before Aragorn arrived, having witnessed Isengard's downfall from a distance; then go save Lothrandir while Aragorn and the others head south, then rejoin Halbarad and company at Dol Baran - and then go meet Aragorn at the Ford.
That would've made more narrative sense and would've killed multiple birds with one stone; I also am sorry they leap-frog-jumped the plot to West Gondor while skipping several pivotal lore moments that took place in between, including the business with Pippin and the Palantir at Dol Baran and Aragorn then confronting Sauron directly through the Palantir in the Hornburg, and so on. I guess they wanted to give us a lore-excuse to stay behind somewhat in the Entwood to end up having to chase the Grey Host while resolving other problems in West and Central Gondor before catching-up finally.
I honestly would rather have had "the pause button" there and just do everything rather than missing-out on important things, *shrugs shoulders,* and avoid having that 1 element of the lore reversed.
I agree with you it would've been worth them revisiting as they did Helm's Deep, and I hope they would: but again, I just don't think it's on their radar at all right now and, while I'd hope for the best, my reasonable expectation is that it'll all still stay the same. Worth a try though, I guess
Cheers!
