Paid for Race change and now my char looks hideous! Cordovan help!

The moment it became available I paid the 28€ for race changing my Burglar into a High Elf something that I has highly anticipating.


I created my character just fine in char creation:



But when I logged in the game my character was looking like this:



The eyes are creepy white, there are these red patches around the eyes that look like burn marks and the eyebrows disappear.

I went to the barber to change my appearance but no change removes these marks or alters the eye color.






I have the character models on ultra high and I use NO 3rd party graphic modification tools like sharers etc.

I tried creating another High Elf character (lvl 1) and it appears fine.


This Burglar is my main and only char that I've been playing on and off for almost 10 years now, so I cannot just recreate the character and go on with my life.

I'm now stuck with this hideous looking character, and instead of the excitement for FINALLY playing an Elven Burglar, the 28€ I paid bought me disappointment and a lack of will to keep on playing.

This bug seems to be very serious . Maybe update 33.2 broke the high elves.. Pls we need an official SSG response before race changing our characters too - the cost is too high.

Yes, I agree. She looks terrible, like a wraith or something!

Glad I am very happy with the class/race combos that I have, but regardless, this needs to be addressed for everyone who might want a change!

You know, for what it's worth, I think your character looks pretty darn cool. Those white eyes, pale skin, pointed ears, your character looks like a vampire. I know it's not what you want, and that's what matters, but still: Looks pretty cool.

I had a similar issue: I turned my female Hobbit Burglar into a female High Elf Burglar via a Race Change token and renamed her, and she has a permanent "Details Option 2" on her forehead with the painted circlet with the ruby; there's no way to remove that circlet currently, not using any of the "Details" options. In fact, changing to "Details 2" actually puts - 2 - painted circlets on her forehead, *laughs*!

My newly created (not race-changed) Harfoot Lore-master has very burnt looking hands and feet too. Something is wonky with lighting or shading on player textures.

EDIT: False alarm! They were just terrible gloves.

RELATED: Can we get darker skin tones for Harfoot hobbits? I want more than a slightly tanned Hobbit. There's now visual precedence for it in addition to the canonical source.

We have sent this report to someone on the art team to take a look at and see what we can do to improve this look, if we are able to get a fix in it should be in one of our upcoming game updates.

Does anyone know if this issue only happens with High Elves? I recently race changed my mini from hobbit to HE and had this happen. Like OP it's making me not want to play her much at all. Contemplating doing another race change to woman, but before I do I'd like to know that this glitch wouldn't be passed on to her as well.

I know it's anecdotal, but my race change from Elf to Hobbit went smoothly. I'm quite happy

My wife's high-elf is also disappointing. She wonders why her character is always "frowning". : (

Try turning off the 'Avatar Update Visual' that's on the character select screen and in the options and see how she looks.

I'm not a fan of it and didn't like how it made my characters look when it first went into effect so I turned it off and never looked back.

That only affects how things are displayed on your client. Other players might have that setting enabled or disabled, and that will change how your characters appear to them.

Well since the OP is complaining how his character LOOKS TO HIM, I doubt if he really cares what others see.
