One thing leads to another... What about more housing NPCs?

So we got these decorative stairs and platforms... and personally I find them nice for filling up the space, though I wouldn't attempt to outright create additional floors (there is enough space as it is but not too many hooks)

But this makes me outright wish for some aliveness... What about some animated standing in place Angmarims praying here...

I mean, XD. Would be cool to have some of these iconic NPCs, both good and bad

I wonder whether there is some limitations/technical worry? @Scenario
Since we're clearly not getting any housing NPCs/property guards too often and I'm so tire of the old ones already... but there is so much assets in the game to tap into..... and with more variety, not just guards walking around, but some NPCs doing their iconic animations or musicians playing their instruments in our houses

Like I said, now I need an Angmarim priest cowering before my throne. Taking into account all the Gundabad content with them this should already have been made into an item back in Gundabad. LOL.

There was a thread some time ago asking for more npcs in our houses. So I'm sure Scenario has it on his list. Let's hope it reaches the top of the list sometime soon!

Oh, I sure would love something like a "data dump" of NPCs, like there has been for platforms/walls and how it's gonna be for Suggested Assets list. But I mean, even in regular content updates, we don't seem to be getting these NPCs often and it's been just property guards so far, so I wonder whether there is something about these that's more difficult/worrisome

Hopefully they find all the time they need to keep adding more variety to housing. Fingers crossed!

In one of his streams, Scenario addressed the question of why Yondershire taverns are so filled with NPCs and yet don't add to lag issues? He said they aren't like normal NPCs, so they don't take up the amount of resources. If we were to get "people' for our houses, I imagine they would be of that nature.

I would love "people" decor items that are like the Sleeping Brown Cat decor item. This cat is so much better than turning a cos pet into a decor item - cos pets wander randomly, often going on top of furniture and other inappropriate places. I love using the Distant Cousin pet in my houses, but sure wish he would stay behind the bar, or out in the kitchen!

The Sleeping Brown cat sleeps, gets up and walks a small distance, washes its face, then wanders back to the original position and sleeps again. With a defined path, you can place the cat appropriately. We do have Elladan and Elrohir decor items, which are also very good. Some commoners would also be good.

In any case, thanks to Scenario for being SO responsive to all of our myriad wishes and wants in housing!

I love the pet hooks and making housing use of pets we can gather but... yeah, this is an issue, these things wonder off into the most obscure or weird corners of the house, including on top of things, and there is not much control. I assume these are somehow automated now? Meaning the system exists, they add new pets and these can be somehow automatically converted into that housing system? Meaning not that much work overall? So yeah, I agree. If we're going to see more of bigger creatures or NPCs for housing, I would love the "mostly stand in place and do a cool animation" just like the "background" non-clickable NPCs they use on landscape. Who knows, maybe they can even have a feature where each has their set of animations attached for us to choose from and pick? That would be brilliant! Then we can have commoners, musicians, nobles, iconic mobs like Angmarim priests, an orc or two or a girl dancing. No function, no follow me. Just for flavor, a background NPC to bring more live to our spaces. We can still have some new fully mobile "property guard" NPCs from time to time, when it makes sense, like when they're actual guards in armor. But for others they can come up with more varied more fun functions/animations to choose from.

My house has two sleeping cats, a cat on a cushion, and a cosmetic pet cat placed in a pet harness. It's a bit irritating when the cosmetic one wanders on top of the fireplace or onto the food table, but I have to admit it's a pretty authentic cat experience.

I still want an indoor Auctioneer, a Banker who is not a shape shifter, and a Merchant who does not require a summoning horn or constantly remind me how tired she is.

Within my circle of friends we are discussing building our own village. Some town people would help make the shops look more authentic.
