    If you want 'variety' in climate, travel! It's a big world with plenty of climate zones. But if we want some semblance of real-world physics, the change should be gradual like it is with the ride up to Forochel.

    And if the ground cover really is the same as other areas but with a different color palette then it should very simple to tweak the brown areas of Lonelands to look like they belong to the same latitudes as the rest of the zones around. It still probably wouldn't hurt to add a few more trees, especially on the eastern end approaching the shaws... (Actually, the landscape in Cardolan reminds me of the Iron Hills more than any other area of the game. But that's fine. It's another remote and rugged landscape.)

    Yes, there are some concessions necessary to make a good game vs. a 'realistic' world, but this isn't one of them. The weird abundance of mobs, for example, is something that really is necessary. We couldn't have a playable game without combat ready 'monsters' all over the place. So there are mobs just standing around so thick that you can't travel on-level without being chased all the time. And they re-spawn at a rate that implies population levels you would need scientific notation to track. Insane, but essential for a game. The automatic behavior of mobs often seems weird, too. Seeing wolves or big cats just standing around right next to deer or boars is bizarre and clearly unrealistic. But games need their enemies to fight.

    Whenever I find landscape errors I report them; however, oftentimes they are temporary in nature, indicative of processing/coding issues and not necessarily misplacement of objects. For instance, more than once I've found crafting resources buried in terrain, inaccessible, but if I come back to that area later the resources can be accessed. I've also had occasion when using a travel route to find that the game wants me to go underground, under a bridge, etc. ... which means the location of the way-point "fell through" the terrain. Shouldn't happen, but it does, most likely the result of rounding errors when converting integers to floating point numbers (integers require less memory, so a lot of data is stored as integers and then converted to floating point in use; doesn't always work right; it's a common problem in many games).

    Sometimes the landscape errors are funny... for instance, mobs embedded in terrain who can't move to engage my character (beneficial most of the time); as long as they don't interfere with game play, I simply report them and move on with life.

    Earlier In this thread I made a comment on the Grass changes in the Shire and Bree-land and also the purple flowers in the Lonelands.

    I now realise or at least think that this is due to you revamping many of the older foliage assets.(part of an effort to improve some of the older graphics for the game?)

    This new change is really good as many of these older assets were so unnoticeable from most angles and distances that they may as well have not been present.

    This change in affects the sandy areas of Evendim and the beaches of Gondor the most as the grass before was very thin and wouldn't be visible until you were practically on top of it.
    A couple changes I would make to the current form of the grass would be to make the spawning location a bit less square as the square patches are quite noticeable now and look odd and also maybe change the core design of the grass type as it looks quite thin to be a grass designed to grow on sand instead if could have a more 3d design with the blades being more concentrated and coming from a central root and maybe changing the colour of green( a good example would be marram grass which is seen in more sand dune like environments than a flat beach )
    Also in future seaside areas you could make the spawning more accurate by having the grass be set lines where the front lines are more sparse as they have been affected more by the sea and have the hills with grass on and the lower parts with no grass on.
    Finally in Central Gondor in parts the grass mixes a bit much with the standard folliage.
    (Im only guessing at the type of grass this is meant to be and also I understand that the time to make these changes compared to the value means that they probably wont be done.)



    Edit-the marram beach grass comment made above is not true as I have found this grass also growing in more swamp like areas of the game eg Agamaur(which actually fits their more thin design more where they are used in shallow water) which would mean mean that it would make even more reason to make a separate grass type for the sandy areas of the game especially the two gondorian zones as swamp type grass probably wouldn't be found in Mediterranean/European sand dunes/beaches.
    This new type of grass would be usable across Eriador and some of Gondor and maybe upper Harondor
    This could help to add diversity and life to coastal environments which are usually quite flat(unless they are cliffs) and repetitive in games
    maybe this design of a more scrub land type environment that Harondor could be as I assume the desert starts deeper in Harad proper.



    In regards to the grass in Shire and Bree-land from before I would be a hard fix as the grass asset has a weird line shape making it quite obvious and prone to floating as well as it rendering in/seeming more visible from longer distances but the easiest change that would help a bit would be to maybe change the colour of green to be more in line with the standard grass in the Shire and Bree-land.

    For the Lonelands flowers maybe just lower the concentration since they are more visible now or maybe this is how you want them to be?
