Feature Article Feedback: Hero’s Guide to the Silvertine Lodes

Deep in the belly of the great Misty Mountain peak called Celebdil by the Elves, Zirak-zigil by the Dwarves, and Silvertine by Men, one of the great quarries of Khazad-dûm lays in shadow and dust, waiting for its restoration, waiting for the echoes of pick-axes and miners’ songs to fill its empty caverns and tunnels once more.

I have to say, Kudos to the writer(s) of these Hero's Guides....

I'm still finishing up quests in Eregion, so I've only had a glimpse of Moria so far, but these guides keep making me want to rush into to Moria (but my completionist instincts have won out so far... )

    Keep up the good work

Great writing! The descriptions make everything seem very epic... which they are, so kudos!

The one zone in Moria I really really hate

My kin hears me complain about this place all the time.

    Boo Silvertine Lodes.

That was a great write-up. I wish snippets like that would show up throughout the game world itself! The timing was perfect; just before reading the guide I had spent a few hours wandering Silvertine. I'd just explored into the old mansion neighborhood, wandered alongside the canal, checked out the architecture. And I was thinking, "Man, there's probably a great story here, wonder what it is." And boom, there it is in the guide. It really brings it all to life. Not presuming to speak for Tolkien, but to me this felt like the kind of place he would have envisaged there.

I have only just begun to venture into this part of Moria. This guide will be a great help in my future explorations. Thank-you!
