So is it a max of 20 items and with the option to purchase more spaces like the bank vaults operate now? I thought that is how it was previously explained

Re: Dev Diary Feedback: Shared Storage

Are there multiple storage slots we can purchase like th Vault slots or is it just 1 big one? How much will it cost to buy that one slot? And how many item slots does it have?

Also, the Adventurer's Pack pre-order offer says we will be given "shared storage between characters". Does this mean a 2nd one? Or is this the only way to get the shared storage? Or is does it basically pay for the first shared storage slot for us?

Thanks for the news Turbine! Awesomeness! I was getting so angry over the adventurer's pack until I read Marketroid's post, now I'm so very happy.

For your convenience, bound items can be stored in Shared Storage -- but only the character they belong to can retrieve them. The Filter Bound Items option will hide items that don’t belong to your current character. Unique items cannot be stored in the Shared Storage

Looks neat. Can we get those fancy filtering options for our main vaults? My storage is often so cluttered, I find separate stacks of items that could easily combined if I just knew I had these separate stacks.

It's kind of too bad about Unique Items being untransferrable this way. Those Uru and CD class quest items sometimes need to be transferred from one alt to another, and I'm pretty sure those are considered unique. But I guess the mail system still works.

It is a pure scandal that you got to pay extra to get these in-game perks.

It is company greed at it's highest : selling in-game items for cash.

Greed is always ugly to see. Greed from a gaming company twice as ugly.

I'm not too sure that is accurate. It seems to me that they are going out of the way to make paying for the expansion optional.

I didn't say anything about the expansion. I say that they start to do the same as in DDO : charge money to get ingame items & perks.

It is yuck to me, but I suppose rich people won't mind.

Re: Dev Diary Feedback: Shared Storage

Why does Turbine put up a dev diary about shared storage, without revealing how much space it has?

I'm assuming they have some reason to leave us wondering, I just can't think what the reason is. But I'm happy about the concept, at least.

I was wondering the same thing. Let hope it is limitless like the AH! =p Now that would be a sweet x-mas present!

Re: Dev Diary Feedback: Shared Storage

I'd like to still hope this question will be read/answered, but know in all likely hood it won't, but here it goes anyways:

    Q. It appears as if this new shared storage system is only available on the PvE freep as it is accessed from a Vault Keeper. Does this mean that it will not be a feature available to monsters players, as we have no access to a creep, lore fitting vault currently? Or will a creep, lore fitting vault like space be added to Monster play, to allow for such a shared storage system to be implemented for Monster play also?
    How did I get here?

Shared storage: A storage space capable of storing 20 items accessible by all your characters on the same LOTRO server/world.

As near as I can tell it is only 20 slots for shared storage. There doesn't appear to be an option to buy more slots. The picture that shows "unlock more storage" is a picture of the main vault and is there to illustrate the "go to shared storage" feature accessible from the main vault.

Re: Dev Diary Feedback: Shared Storage

It's funny how the shared storage is down to 20 slots. The information LOTRO-Vault gave was that it would be 50 slots with ability to buy more. 20 slots is not really that meaningful when you consider the desparity between storage and items that they themselves created. 50 slots would have been about right. I'm only guessing but maybe this is a way for them to start hitting us with those micro-transactions that have been hanging in the clouds over the last year or so.

Currently, shared storage space appears to be limited to 50 items, though Mr. Steefel said this was likely to increase over time in a similar manner to purchasing further storage space for your character's Vault.

I had other questions about the two different "purchase options" but looks like other threads are already answering those.

This is a nice addition. I would also like to see a sorting option for our main packs on our toons. Have an option somewhere to have items in our packs sorted by type. Make things a little easier to find.

Yeah 20 slots is strange... why even have the sorting feature for that much space? You wouldn't even scroll another window down.

    Question.

If we don't buy this Adventure Pack, do we not get the Shared Storage when we get the expansion?

Correct! You would NOT get "shared storage" if you did not get the Adventurer's Pack.

    Adventurer's Pack contents:
    Two character slots
    Shared Storage across the account
    Bonus items included:
    Harbinger Cloak
    Dusky Nimble Goat

    Seige of Mirkwood Pack contents:
    New Area
    Character Level to 65
    New Legendary Item slot
    New craftable items
    Skirmish system
    New quests and content

Please tell me you didn't make a typo and that the Adventurer's Pack actually gives us 2 extra character slots to play with?

    EDIT:

YES!! Just read the special offers page, I'll be getting the pack thankyou and I'll take those delicious character slots.

Re: Dev Diary Feedback: Shared Storage

Unless the storage is vast or unlimited, this does very little to resolve the actual pain point for me... I spend way too much time shuffling inventory around.

I just want to be able to access my alt's bags without logging out and logging in. It'd be nice to just have a simple menu allowing me to open up any of my alt's bag and drag and drop items in and out.

To keep it more "realistic", perhaps only allow us to access the menu from home, and only open the bags of alts who logged out in said home.

Nevertheless, the sorting is nice. It's a step in the right direction. Especially if it will auto-stack duplicate items. (will it?) Why not make all chests like that?

Unfortunately I don't think this will resolve your "point of pain" with shuffling. And trust me, I hear you loud and clear on that because I do quite a bit of that myself.

It's only 20 shared bank slot on a new tab of some type. Supposedly we will be able to "buy" more in time but they do not mention if that will be "buy" as in ingame gold or "buy" as in micro-transaction. I have a bad feeling it's going to be the later but one can always have hope that I'm wrong.

I already have my cloak...is the shared storage also active or anything I need to do to activate it or is it a Dec 1 thing?
