I noticed that the forums homepage is somewhat different now than it used to be... And quite honestly I prefer the old version. Here's the new one that's showing up for me...

I'm seeing the same thing. I hope it's just temporary.

During times of high forum traffic such as this downtime, we turn off the module that makes the front page of the forums look like it normally does. This actually helps the servers handle the heavier than normal load better.
Once traffic here on the forums returns to normal, the module will be turned on again and all will be back to normal.![]()
Disregard - answered here...

Yeah i think they changed it for the upcoming F2P because if u look the new players forums are the very top ones.
I'm seeing the same thing. I liked the old format better.![]()

I usually click Forums at the top of the LOTRO.com page, but when I did it today it brought me to a different page. Here, I could see the latest threads on the right, but it seems less organized than the original.
Before, I saw news in the middle, and Fansite News and In-game Players Events on the right. Now, to see News I have to scroll down to Announcements instead of just seeing everything at the first page. Has everyone else been switched to the new page or am I just the odd one?

Not all those who wander are lost. They might be working on one of their exploration deeds.
The new forums stink on ice. Let others follow them who can.

There are already a couple threads on this, closing this one down.![]()
The page has been changed while we perform maintenance. It will all be back to normal after the maintenance is complete.
Please don't open new threads on this topic. I've merged all the existing thread.
This looks like an older style in general, similar to many forums a couple of years ago.

If you want to be really technical it's the default forum view. If you were to install a VBulletin forum with no mods or changes, it would have this layout. We use an add on that makes things a bit easier to read and puts announcements, literally, front and center. You'll see the old version return, most likely tomorrow.
I first noticed this about 8 hours ago. I'm hoping that it is just a temporary problem, because there isn't any news from turbine right up front I'm inclined to think it is.
The devs said it was due to the high traffic on the forums during the downtime but i would of thought it would of been back to normal by now.
I'll chalk up the in-game slowness I've seen since the downtime to the same reason. Now the game lags every few minutes, rubber banding after twenty seconds or so. I haven't been disconnected, but it's tough to kill stuff when you're lagging all the time.
Heh, it took me awhile to figure out what people were talking about, because that's the view I always see (on purpose). My bookmark to the LOTRO site isn't to lotro.com or to the normal top-level forum view, it's to here: http://forums.lotro.com/forumlist.php . Which is the view that everyone's complaining about in these threads today.

Is it just me or has the forum layout been tampered with? Now all I see is one brain-melting list, have I screwed with my forum interface or is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
