    Kinship Auto-Disband message

The way it's set up right now, you must have a minimum of 8 people in your kinship. If you fall below that, when you log on, it tells you that your kinship will be auto-disbanded in 5 days. If you have the minimum number (8), it still continues to tell you that. Once you have gone above the minimum, it continues to pop up on your screen with that message for 5 days thereafter.

Can you make it so that once you have gone above the minimum, it no longer pops up rather than having it continue to do so for 5 days? Beyond it simply being annoying, it could very easily frighten away kinsmen thinking that the kinship is going to disintegrate. I appreciate the warning pop-up if we are below the min. But if we have gone beyond the minimum threshold, there is no reason for the box to continue telling us that we will be disbanded.

Not sure what would happen if you have Exactly 8 members (as mine had more than that by the 2nd day of creation, but less after first day) but I only got the message for another day or so, not the 5 days.

RIght on. Well, I opened a ticket about it and the GM said that it continues even if you have minimum level (8) of members. I am not sure if that means indefinitely or not, but the way he worded it, that's what it sounded like.

The message should not repeat for the full five days if you're over 8 members. Once you have the minimum it will stop (it might carry for the remainder of that day or perhaps the next) and will not reappear again unless you drop below the minimum again.

Can f2p players make/join kinships? Are they being counted?

Cool. I hope so. I did make a MOTD to let the players know, but really, it should still be an immediate thing.

I actually had to open a ticket up about this because it was happening to my kin, and I can confirm that it does happen all the way until the kinship expiration date, and the GM that responded to my ticket told me this was the way the game did things.

They can not create a kinship. They can join. They are counted. They can be officers, members, recruits, leader in waiting or even the leader.

Should not, but most definitely does. The message lasts the full five days regardless of how many people you add during that time. I just experienced it with my new kinship on Crickhollow (and the same thing with my Creep tribe a couple years ago). It took us until late in the 3rd day to have over 8 characters, but the message persisted through the 5th day. It's very disconcerting to see that message and not know for sure if you're going to be disbanded or not.

That's EXACTLY why I opened an in-game ticket. I could not figure out why it was still telling me we were below minimum required characters when we so clearly were not.

The Kind GM that assisted left the ticket open until the time period had passed so we could both be sure that my kinship was not deleted (fortunately it was not). But this is a real problem that should be fixed ASAP.

Agreed. This was pretty scary, and it happened with my new kin.
Had to re-assure everybody that we were *well* above the eight members required
(we had about 30-40) and that if something did happen, we'd just reform.

Never did get a response to my ticket, but then again
I know how busy everybody was with this F2P launch
The problem eventually went away, for which I'm glad

but if you could address this, I think you'd save a lot of worrying!

Wow! Kudos to you for finding it. Most people don't search for topics on their issues. So nicely done. hehe... Hell, I admittedly only go 2-3 pages in before I say, "Ok... making a new thread."

    Re: Kinship Auto-Disband message

Bumping this to say I am currently experiencing this a year and a half later, with exactly 8 members.

Question - does the kinship leader count to the total? I guess I am still nervous about being disbanded. I have a mix of F2P and others in the kin, which from the responses above I gather should be ok. But I'm wondering if my "exactly 8" includes the leader. Can't see why not?

Should I create an extra alt to throw in for safe measure? Would that do anything?

This should probably be fixed if it is still an issue.

8 should be the safe minimum. Though, as far as I know, only those with their in-game kinship rank at Member or higher are being counted. As in, recruits aren't.

I'm not 100% certain though, never had these problems myself, not even with my storage kinship.

Unless it's been changed recently, all ranks count, including Recruits.

    Re: Kinship Auto-Disband message

Had this happen with the private kin I have between my alts, just a week or two back. Rerolled one character, and had the message upon logging on to all other toons 'your kinship will disband in 5 days etc', for the entire 5 days.

Found it strange, and I added up to 9 total into the kin to be safe, but I didn't realise it was a bug.

This is still an ongoing problem. Had someone reroll their character and it wasn't until I saw the message that I realized I had forgotten to reinvite. Invited 3 days ago and am still seeing the message everytime anyone of the kinnies logs in. Obviously NOT a concern of Turbine, since it does not affect gameplay, just gives a bad message.

F2P players/accounts can indeed create kinships. The founding character must be at least level 15.
