    One thing I personally will hope for, is the ability to copy a character, as they are at a given time, to another server. IE: the ability to copy my sole main toon, at lvl 65, to another server, but RETAIN the original where it was. Right now, it is an all-or-nothing proposition. However there have been times I wanted to attend gatherings in another server, but can't, because I neither have a toon there, sufficient to make going easy, nor wish to start yet another elsewhere.

    Obviously issues within the idea. You still couldn't allow copies to high-population servers. Such copies could create "surge" issues impacting performance, should there be to many such copies. Yet I think it all could be managed well enough to at least try it.

    This seems extremely unlikely. In effect, you're duplicating your character, which is normally an exploit - and you want Turbine to make it a paid service?

    The only way I'd be okay with this is if the character copied showed up naked with no inventory.

    I have no issues with coming into a server without gear and such. It would promote LOTRO-Store use, etc.

    After getting hacked and having quest items, guild items, and all my crafting work vendored for a little silver, I am much more interested in hearing about how Turbine will protect my time and money invested in LOTRO by restoring characters if I get hacked. That will always be in the back of my mind when I consider whether to spend more money on items that can all be erased without any backup.

    Does Turbine have the ability to move entire LOTRO SUBSCRIPTIONS from one TURBINE account to another?

    I'm not talking about moving characters from one subscription to another, I'm talking about severing the relationships my multiple subscriptions have to a single Turbine ID.

    Long long ago, we only had 5 character slots, and 7 classes. Sure, we could try out a class on another server, but if we decided we wanted one of the other two classes on our "main" server, we had to give up something else. This was often a class that may have lost luster at the time (whether due to class changes or person focus at the time), but still, we would have preferred to keep the character.

    I've always regretted deleting that first champ I played, and hated the idea of leveling one again. Now I can get her back!

    I don't believe so, but I wish they did. If I'd realized what it meant, I wouldn't have applied that second key to my existing account--but I'd have set up a new account.

    While it's certainly nice to have new services. I don't think this particular one should cost a dime.

    How long does it take to locate a character in the database and unflag it? Not long at all.

    Blizzard offers this absolutely free of charge. Even if the character is several years old.

    First of all, no one knows how much work is involved on Turbine's end to do an undelete.

    Second, these services are often priced at levels intended to decrease their use. Turbine doesn't want people using character deletion as a cheap way to archive characters, after all.

    Also, realize WoW is not a free to play game. If I could freely undelete my characters at a whim, I'd have no reason to ever buy an extra character slot, etc.

    We can't currently move subscriptions between usernames. However, I'm happy to add your names to the list of players interested in this process/service.



    There are some new updates to the FAQ as well for the Undelete service.

    Sorry yes it was tongue and cheek, but it is something that would make my life complete, so i could use all my awesome toons on our first account with my wife's toon.

    A developer has stated on the thread that it is being thought about...

    What happens if someone else has taken the name of the deleted toon, I assume you would be reinstated with a renamemeplease name? or paper?

    Thank you, turbine! I will be using this service to get my hobbit hunter back. I regreted deleting him. I never made another one due to the knowledge that I would have to kill calder cob again and run pies and mail around again. Did that stuff twice and never will do it again untill the shire gets its turn to be updated. And I have done the intro areas so many times they are not fun anymore. If only we could skip them like we could in the pref2p days. It was a fun challenge to run the starter quests when they were orange lvl quests. It could be a VIP perk. I believe it was removed to streamline f2p. Can anyone confirm that?

    From the FAQ's
    What if someone else already has my character’s name on the destination server once it’s been undeleted?

    If the name of your Undeleted character is already in use on the server, you will automatically be assigned a free rename credit.

    The rename credit will allow you to rename your character by logging onto the Undeleted character and typing /changename newname (replacing "newname" with the name you would like your character to have) into the chat window command line. You will only have access to use the /changename command until a valid new name is obtained successfully.

    Please use the /changename command wisely, as this credit has a one-time use. If you make a typo, or choose a name you are not satisfied with, Turbine will be unable to credit a refund.

    Thanks Victorie. I realize that once a key is applied to an account, that's pretty much a done deal. Just something for the wish book. I suspect there may be some married/partnered folks that bought another account, but applied the key to the previous account and are now stuck.

    But that is off topic. Yea for more options, including undelete!
