    PAX East

Are there any Turbine community events planned for PAX East this year? I see several Turbine folks have roles as speakers or panel members.

We will be out in force for PAX East! We have a few things up our sleeves, but we're not going to spill the beans (Get it? Boston, bean town, beans...never mind) just yet.

The real question is, who's coming? Sound off!

If I'm there friday only, will I miss out on all the fun? Or, to put it differently, which day will be the absolute best?

Even though I live in the PDRM I can't afford to go to PAX East. Unless of course Turbine can get me in if I just wave my Turbine Nation 2004 Turbine Slugger purple nerf bat around. I would even wear my name tag from Turbine Nation.

All I could find on the schedule site at PaxEast was for Saturday,.

    Turbine Keynote
    IGDA Dev Center
    Saturday, 10:00am - 10:50am

The Game Monetization Revolution: Embracing new business models that are good for both players and developers.

Presented by Fernando Paiz [Executive Producer, Turbine]

Does Turbine have some announcement post or page telling us where/when they're events will be?

Go here http://east.paxsite.com/schedule.php and do a browser search for Turbine. I'm sure Turbine will do something more official soon.

I have to admit to ignorance on the PDRM part, but it's nice to hear someone still recalls the old Turbine Nation and still has the swag. I guess if you still have the name tag you're ready in the event we do a call up again?

I do, too - though I never made it there - I sent a friend to take my spot with my Kinship for a face-to-face with LOTRO devs...and he won a Beta invite. :-p

From what I can tell, Fernando Paiz is the Executive Producer for DDO and Kate Paiz is the Executive Producer for LOTRO. Hmm, any relation? (Edit: Husband and Wife, would be fun to do something like that with my wife :-)

Kate is also on the PAX schedule if you look, doing a panel on F2P and Micro-transactions.

PDRM = People's Democratic Republic of Massachusetts. Not to be confused with the People's Democratic Republic of Cambridge...

If you have another Turbine Nation I will definitly try to get to it. I will have to add my LotRO character name and server to my nametag though. It presently has my AC character (Shin Ki-jun) and server on it. I was also at the ACPL (Asheron's Call Player Luncheon) in Boston the year before. Those of us who were there from our Monarchy (Knights of Fortune - Morningthaw server) kidnapped Zycra (who was in our monarchy at the time) and Orion afterwards and dragged them over to the Irish Bar across the street from the Hotel after the event. (LotRO was still MEO and still under Vivendi at the time. Yes, I watched the trailer they had that day.)
