If I am in a raid I will turn sound off so I can hear the leader at all times. Sometimes I can't hear him over the sound affects during battle and with music on I never hear him.

If I'm just wandering around Middle Earth, doing a solo skirmish or an old school instance solo I'll just listen to whatever is on TV. I have my PC set up in living room right beside it so I can watch Hockey while gaming

Re: What songs you listen to when playing Lotro?

Sometimes I pick something random from my library but generally it's folk metal/ death metal/ thrash or something similar.

    - Eluveitie's new album "Helvetios" has been getting lots of play in the past week
    - Amon Amarth's discography, particularly the albums "Versus the World", "With Oden on Our Side", "Twilight of the Thundergod", and "Sutur Rising"
    - Battlelore (some of their music has Tolkien themed lyrics, plus there is a nice instrumental called "Horns of Gondor")
    - Ensiferum has some pretty epic sounding songs, my favorite being "Into the Battle"
    - Demonaz's album "March of the Norse"
    - Kreator's classic "Enemy of God"
    - Wolf is a cool Swedish metal band with sort of a throwback feel to it, songs like "I Will Kill Again" are nice for orc slaying.

There's also some random stuff in there like Crashdiet, Versailles and Airbourne.
    Nanci - 115 Captain / Hirandiel - 115 Hunter / Hildimar - 115 Minstrel - "Weekend at Bill Ferny's" - Arkenstone (formerly of Windfola)
    Nimgarthiel - 75 Captain / Gliriel - 50 Minstrel / Hereniel - 25 Hunter - "Succulent Meats" - Arkenstone

I listen to Lotro's music while playing Lotro. I'm still not tired of it. :P

There's nothing quite like slaughtering orcs to the tune of 'All You Need Is Love'! I mostly listen to Beatles stuff, or alternatively a loop of the intro of Baba O'Riley and Requiem of a Dream. I used to listen to Star Wars music too, but after so many people in my kin ran off to SWTOR I cut down on that...

When my hubby walks into the room, he can tell what I'm doing based on what's playing on my Ipad 2.

At this point there are only 1 of 2 things I am doing.

    1. Gathering mats for alts. I play some nice jazz radio.

    or

    2. Leveling up an alt. I play some classic rock radio.

Track 1 - My sexy hunter out cruisin' around
Track's - 2,3 are definitely when i think about Turbine.

Track 5 - My first wife "backstage" Barbara, evil you were.
Track 6 - Tamara. Been a lotta' year's, such a waste. RIP baby.
Track 7 - Me and my Tascam noodling around with an old Dokken song a few years ago. Yeah, i got chop's.

I usually listen to the LOTRO soundtrack, as I like all the music and the sounds etc. But when playing with a Warden, I turn on iTunes and put it on shuffle just to drown out his incessant shouting. -_-

    It's usually a mix of 70s and 80s rock.

For the most part, I listen to the game soundtrack while playing. It's lovely and I hope they commission more music from Thomas for the upcoming expansion. I was disappointed to discover Isengard had no new themes to play.

Other times, I put my iTunes on shuffle and everything from Mozart to disco to punk to old rock plays for me.

Re: What songs you listen to when playing Lotro?

In-game music bores me to death, especially during prolonged gameplay in the same general areas. Variety is the spice of life. That having been said, I listen to Pandora mostly (I'm subbed to it, so no commercials either).

During the fall festival, when burrowing on way-to-many alts, I created a station based on Ghosts N Stuff by deadmau5... that was epic - made the destival for me pretty much by itself.

In general, I usually listen to trip hop (Tricky, Massive Attack, etc) or dubstep (Skrillex, Foreign Beggars, etc) depending on what mood I'm in, I have stations set up for both. Both types of music have a nice get-things-done drive to them. =)

Official soountrack mostly, but sometimes a few other things

I listen to the LOTRO soundtrack for the most part.

However, if I want to listen to something else I usually put my personal library on random. I listen to anything from classical, to rock, pop, jazz, folk, pretty much anything.

I really like to listen to Thousand Foot Krutch's new album "The End is Where We Begin" while playing LOTRO as well. I also like the LOTR film soundtracks.

There are so many things I could name.

Not because it's relevant to the game, but good "pump" music.
    Drop Kick Murphys
    Real McKenzies
    Flogging Mollies
    NoFX

    Lotsa punk and the like.

Something about playing LOTRO and grinding a quest when "The Workers Song" from Drop Kicks starts playing. Irony perhaps?

I like listening to metal with playing. Anything heavy is good to kill mobs by. If we every make to Mordor I plan on playing "Strorm the Gates of Hell" from Demon Hunter.

I don't listen to anything other than in-game music. Especially now with the new music in Riders of Rohan which is awesome!

i find my way to the strange parts of youtube and listen to a lot of lectures and conspiracy documentaries.
i also listen to online radio personalities such as Tim Conway Jr. and Phil Hendrie.
when all else fails i throw together a playlist.
once in a while i just listen to the game sound.

Agree, Nightwish is awesome. I also have a huge soft-spot for Leaves' Eyes -- Liv Kristine's voice is just incredible.

When making items and stuff for the game, its (depending on mood):
    A) random trance and house music -- Morgan Page, Deadmau5, etc.
    B) Cradle of Filth.
    C) Battlestar Galactica soundtracks
    D) LOTR / LOTRO soundtracts

I usually only listen to non-LOTRO or LOTR music on my hunter, Sagewood, for some reason. When I do listen to non-LOTR music, I listen to:

    Röyksopp
    Clark
    Aphex Twin
    Floex
    C418

I have yet to buy C418's new double-length album that came out this past Sunday, but I will get around to it this week!
