Mobile Support?

Any chances that there is a mobile format in the works (or hiding from me) for the new forums? Something that should be standard these days...

Kind of a bummer. The forums are even harder to read now on my phone. I'll have to wait to get home to check them out on my tablet. This is really disappointing. But, a very very very small negative.

Overall I think the new forums are gorgeous, so kudos to all who worked on them.

I agree, forum performance used to be perfectly fine on my HTC desire S, using Android 2.3.1 now is non functional. nevermind.

edit: downloaded a recommended browser opera mini and its working fantasticly and the forum looks great and performance is good. (my phone too old for chrome) worth a try for anyone else

Had a quick look on my iPhone 5 and no performance issues. I'll push for a mobile version, but again it will likely fall below other issues in the priority queue.

Performance is fine but the lack of contrast between text and background makes reading very hard on my iphone. My vision isn't perfect but I don't usually have to wear glasses to look at this site on my phone. This is a real problem. Bigger default font or more text/background contrast is needed if you really want this forum to be as usable as it was on mobiles.

Odd, I have to report the opposite. I'm finding the display on my HTC One X to be superior to the old forums, not to mention that the quicker loading is a lot more useful when commuting through poor 3G coverage. And this is coming from someone who has worn glasses - constantly - for more than eleven years. Performance on my Nexus 7 (2012 model) is about equal, I'd say. In all, no complaints about Android (Chrome browser) from where I'm standing. Not sure about the fruit side of things, though.

Is there any way to make the text larger without scrolling side-to-side? The wide format means the text is too tiny to read unless I zoom, and then I need to scroll sideways. On the old forum I didn't have to do this.

I will attempt to use alternative browsers.

Ittook most of the day for my iPhone and ATT to agree that the new URL existed. Some of it may be DNS propagation delays.

I think it was likely software issues for early Android phones, as new browser is working perfectly. it wasn't formatting the tables correctly on standard browser. but see edit, unlikely.to be huge issue for many people as its nearly a two year old phone and I think gingerbread ( version 2.3.1) is no longer issued to New Androids.

Thanks for pushing on a mobile version. Even though my mobile browser displays the regular page fine, a lighter version that loads faster on mobile data is a great option.

Edit to add: With the new version of vb and the redesign, is Tapatalk a possibility now?

Saving passwords has been disabled. You can't do it on PC either. This is working as intended.

Your certificate warning is something I can't speak to as I haven't seen reports.

Look at the bottom right of this thread (on mobile or computer) and you'll see the style picker. Took me a minute to find it, too.

Thanks so much for getting the mobile version rolled out! It took a long time for it to initially load the forums so that I could go in and change the setting to the mobile skin. I think I actually timed out trying to load the page several times. One thing to note, is that the site shows up as not being secure on while using Chrome on Android 4.1.1 on the Samsung GSIII.
