    the price

    hi all.
i dont know if this has been up before but here goes.
yesterday i finally took steps and pre-bought HD-premium.
i was aware of the price of 59.95 as its stated on the page, but got a bit of a chock when it also puts on a tax of additional 15,- so price in all becomes 75...
is that normal or is it due to the type of payment (mastercard) i feel a little sad since the price was already a bit high for my mark, but i wanted to have the expansion... but really?? a 25% price add-on!!.

any help anywhere... Sappience? any great answers, you allways seems to have the best answers...

anyway i look forward to ride on in the new areas, and try it all out on live...

perhaps you had an extra item checked in the cart? I don't remember the checkout options, but there were extra TP offers and in-game offers to choose from. There are also regional things to consider like VAT. You might just call CS as they are the only ones that can certainly tell you what happened, and if you do it quick enough, they may be able to reverse a charge if you accidentally bought something you didn't intend to.

I assume you are somewhere in Europe? They have to add taxes.

It is standard US practice to quote prices without tax added as they cannot be computed until you checkout. They depend on your location.

If you are in the EU try switching to Pound or Euro i think those prices were tax included when i bought mine.
    Nothing here matters.

Preordering IMO has never been the way to go. It is very easy to buy something and get caught up in the hype. For me it has always been better to wait until the product comes out, and see all the options then purchase if you think its worth it. Sorry you got screwed here but that's one of the hooks of pre-ordering. I would have suggested in this case to wait for he sale a month or two after release. a much better deal then and you would have known what you were buying. Disclamer: not everyone believes this is the best way, but I would imagine the majority do.
Mean what you say and say what you mean! If you don't there are always consequences!

Your method of payment wouldn't matter. Fifteen dollars seems like it more than standard state taxes here in the US. Most are in the 6-9% rate and that would be much less than $15. If I had to make a blind guess (and that's really all I can do since I don't know anything about your order or where you are) it would be you did add something or you ordered in the wrong currency and had VAT applied after the fact.

Again, those a blind guesses on my part. The only way you will know for sure is to call account support and explain everything and ask them. I emphasize call.

well, i have taken contact to CS, by mail/ticket from turbines pages... and now ill wait out and see what they say...

LaGere .. i know its a gamble to preorder if there are no clues of what to expect, but i have a pretty good feeling on it, and i would have paid for the pack anyways... i have been playing since turbine got all united into 1 single company and been a vip for little more than 2 years, and despite some peoples doomsday visions im not abandoning this ship... only if they make a stand-alone copy at a dedicated server in my own basement...

Sapience .. its as always a pleasure to have people like you working in the back and helping us mere mortals in our times of need...

I purchased the expac for my account from the Lotro Market and there was no tax, week later go to buy a copy for the wifey and the tax appeared, same computer same credit card same method from the website. Even tried to change it to different region still could not shake the nasty tax popping up. Then tried the digital river version of purchase through store.turbine.com and the tax didn't show up. Purchased it through there then just added the code to her account. Cat skinning, always another way.

Note this only worked in my case, it may or may not work for anyone else.

that sounds a bit strange too, i hope they can come up with some good reason...
but for now ill just have to wait, maybe as sapience says i have to call them but that may be last line of action since they are -6 hours in timezones, so i have to call rather late for them to be open...
but all in all, lotro still have fanbase in denmark, and i would love to send some danish cookies for sapience, but i really dont have a clue of where to send them...
