    FIVE mithril coins? FIVE?

Forgive me, but this seems very much like the old 'bait and switch'. Especially given the number of Mithril Traders everywhere.

"Mithril quest teleportation costs have increased slightly for Helm's Deep questing areas only."

This is a lot more than 'slightly'.

They are only in Helm's Deep, all others remain at 1. In beta we had originally set them at 3 and Fredelas and others suggested it be much higher. We set them to 9 and rolled them back to 5 as the appropriate amount as suggested by Fredelas and other players during beta.

I can't imagine any (good) reasons why a players name would purposefully be included.

As far as I know, that suggestion also included decreasing prices in further updates? Is that going to happen?

Were other player suggestions regarding price heeded as well? I remember that the price for extra space in housing chests was ridiculously high, and many clamored for it to be lowered. Same goes for the price of new trait spec slots. I haven't logged in and checked yet how they are on live, but the beta prices desperately needed to be lowered.

I hope Fredelas gets banned before he has chance to make any other poor suggestions.

Uh huh. Players willingly suggested that they'd like to be nickle and dimed more over something. I'm just going to go ahead and call bull on this.

Five certainly seems too high. Particularly given we've gotten so accustomed to only requiring one. Which granted made me perfectly willing to spend them for travel willy-nilly. And my main is a hunter!!

Still I hope that these come down in price. My hunter at least will stick to his travel skills if they stay at 5.

    Long live Fredelas!

I hate Mithril coins with a passion (the way Turbine is using them) but I can forgive Fredelas since he is mentioned by name.

I believe it was mentioned by a blue name somewhere that the reason for the increase was to encourage players to actually do the quests as intended while HD is new. Eventually the plan is to lower the cost to be in line with the rest of the zones. I'm not sure if this is still the case or not. Would a blue name care to comment?

    Oh yes... FREDELAS LIVES!

It does seem strange to single out and name a player for a change. Fredelas has always been very active on the boards and has given us valuable posts like the Hytbold guide. I have not seen much posted from him as of late so I guess he could have moved on from lotro or said something that made him lose the ability to post on the forums. If it is the later then naming him in a post on why a controversial change took place without him having the right to defend himself is cowardly at best.

I think it would be great if Fredelas could pop in and explain his reasoning on this subject...

Okay, that seems fair. I could agree with that reasoning. Especially if the plan would be to reduce the price after the area is no longer 'new'.

Plenty of good reasons. If we can hold Fredelas accountable, we can take the issue directly to him in-game via /tells. Less criticism and negativity on the forum, more time spent in the game world. An extra in-game activity too. I think it could be a fun deed, to be honest; criticize Fredelas in game 300 times = 10 TP.
And who knows, maybe eventually this would even lead to a character name change or server transfer. Name change or transfer = revenue = more money for developing the game.

In fact, once you look at the positives, I think each player should be held accountable for certain aspects of the game. For example, MonkeyFunker could be accountable for lag while on a warsteed. Everyone who lags while on a warsteed should be given an option to /criticize MonkeyFunker in the game.

So you're saying it's all Fredelas' fault.

So specifically, in fact, that you needed to name him twice.

    Wow. Just... wow.

It's always fun to kick someone when they're down or can't defend themselves.
