    Hidden Things

I'm curious to know other than the true workings of Erebrandir's Horseshoe. Is there anything players have yet to discover within the game?

So anything that nobody has yet found? Does the game have anymore secrets? I guess this is more something the Development Team can answer as anything the playerbase knows about is no longer hidden, obviously.

Yeah, I think we know what the OP was trying to get at, but you are right, if it is hidden, how would we know about it? Perhaps better stated: Anyone find anything new lately (that had, up until now, been undiscovered)?

Last truly hidden thing I remember was the Hobbit dancing with small animals, tucked up above Dol Dinen. It was an arduous task to get there involving lucky jumps and a wee bit out of bounds traversing. You can no longer get there though (so don't even try) since they buttoned up the entry. There might still be a you-tube of it.

I still find many fun references I never knew existed, NPC or place names that refer to something from pop culture or literature (not just Tolkein).

A lot of North Breeland is a lot of scenery with a big lake and tons of trees that no one goes to.

There's an easter egg associated with 'Turtles in the Soup' that I don't think anyone ever found.

One of my favourite parts of Middle Earth is Ost Barandor and the Starmere Lakes which it overlooks, though the vast, empty expanses of the Brandywood down towards Girdley Island are also always nice to visit

If you're thinking the ruins in NE Breeland near Far-Chetwood. No.

Its part of the posted-bill item chain in revamped bree.

I do wonder what we're missing. I stood around for quite awhile out there and didn't notice anything. Only happens when you're on the chain perhaps?

I believe it is the special quest chain that was added with the posters in Bree.

I've done that quest several times but I guess since I don't know what to look for, I don't know if I've found it ;P

In the Bree town-hall , with the child under the stairs watching the mini figurines battle with each other. Go there, watch and wait about 15 seconds.

My favourite is the Ice Skater who gets rather annoyed at you in Forchel if you click on him. I'll let you guys find him yourself.

Indeed I love this whole area. We used to incorporate Brandywood and this area for player events because it was so beautiful and so seldom used.

Hmm. I must be bugged. Every time I look for the child, I never see him. Now about the 'Turtles in the Soup' chain, I've done that one at least 20 times (it just so happens that I have 11 more alts available to do it .... ;D) and have not found anything special to date.

The child is hiding under the stairs behind some boxes. You won't see him unless you jump up on said boxes and look down.

The horseshoe is known (confirmed by Sapience, no less) to do two things: the buff during winter fest snowball fights, as already mentioned, and a change in one line of narrative in the Volume III epic book quest series. I've been through the latter with and without the shoe, even knowing to look, and couldn't pick out the difference. So it's pretty minor.

Sapience hinted when he let us know about those two functions that there might some day be more. Since then, no Turbine Team member has ever mentioned or hinted at anything else.

So best to go looking for the unrelated MoL easter egg, I think the horseshoe is all played out.

Well...disregard my remark about no Turbine Team member mentioning anything new related to the horseshoe...MoL seems to have just done that very thing! Sort of. Indirectly. By vague reference, hint and inuendo.

p.s. And thinking about it a little, this is potentially VERY sneaky of MoL. If (if) the easter egg is only visible while doing the Turtle Soup quests AND wearing the horseshoe, that would mean a toon would have to (1) AVOID Turtle Soup while questing in Bree.... (2) grow up enough to do the Volume III quests in Eregion to the point of having the horse shoe, then ... (3) come back to Bree for the Turtle quests. Not many people would do them in that order, which may be why the easter egg hasn't yet been mentioned by anyone. Nice

This also makes it a real challenge to go back and find...you not only have to own (or create) a toon who hasn't yet done the turtle quests, but you have to grow him to high enough level! Could take days or weeks.

Or repeat using the reflection pool, if that's possible for that quest chain.

Knowing that this secret (potentially) exists now makes me doubt everything I've done so far in the game... what if there are more lower-level quests that have a difference when using the Horseshoe? What if it affects the gears quests in Thorin's Hall, or Limael's Vinyard??

Oh MadeofLions why musteth thou be so cruel to thy loyal subjects?

Unfortunately you can't for this quest, otherwise I'd have done it right now. ^^
