    A Sapience memorial

A sapience memorial as he is leaving...

    ... not a statue, but:

    1) A NPC with a fun quest, like, run from A to B in less than XX minutes (Bree to Isengard, or Dol Amroth to Celondim, .... ...something long) - permanent or part of a festival.

    2) Or if too stupid, a lake, a river, a mountain, or a NPC looking like sapience without the quest.

Let's not & say we did. Seriously, there have been other ones who have worked for Turbine & left & there is not statue, memorial or whatever in game.

Should name one of the kids you whoop with the bat in the bandit quest, Sapience.

Excuse me, but don't be accusing me of hating someone. There is no need to put a memorial of one turbine employee into the game. Sorry but by doing that is shows favoritism & in all reality is a bit ridiculous IMO.

Where are you going to get the tomatoes?
They're a New World plant, and Tolkien
seems to have realized that between the
first and second editions of The Hobbit,
which mentions "cold chicken and tomatoes"
in the first and changes to "cold chicken and
    pickles" in the second.

As to taters, we must assume the Elves brought
them to Numenor along with pipeweed, and
they were carried thence to Middle-earth by
    Amandir's nine tall ships.

Anyway, I like Sapience, and I would rather
throw flowers. (As a Historian, I have quite
a lot of them in my vault.)

This would be fun, and the quest reward would be a title, full of sapience.

Perhaps he'll have an NPC in the Eyes & Guard Tavern on Bullroarer like others, but a memorial to me says someone is dead and he's not... it seems a bit over the top. Many have come and gone at Turbine, and it would be difficult to memorialize them all. I know there are several I miss.
I'd explain it to you, but I'm all out of Puppets and Crayons.

And excuse me, but what makes you think I was talking to you? -.- And besides, it's an idiom -- a term of speech. It's not the words that are important, but the meaning.

And for what it's worth, I'm actually in agreement with you. Your point about memorials is valid. I was talking about people wanting to throw rotten vegetables or hit him with bats. Too many people fantasize about inflicting some form of punishment on Sapience, when we all know (or at least I would hope we all know) that Sapience was just doing his job.

Not a sterling argument to use, I'm afraid. You work in a library, look it up sometime.

Look what up? "Idiom"? Idiom is synonymous with "set phrase", which means "an expression whose meaning cannot be inferred from the meanings of the words that make it up", which was exactly my point.

If you weren't talking about my usage of the word idiom, then I have no clue what word you are referring to.

Not sure why you bolded the last few words. There's nothing even there to look up.

I will say though, keep pressing for a store purchased memorial item for housing lawns. For those who wish to commemorate fallen Kinmates. I consider that unfinished business on my part.

If I were being perfectly Honest, I would want a little rock by the Bridge of occasional Hobbit trepidation that commemorates the TTHTI runs so everyone can have a little reminder of them. Maybe just something that had a little white hand on it since we went to Isengard.

Tomatoes. There was such a flurry of activity around them a couple of years back when we had them in an alpha build for farmers to grow. I don't think they ever went live, but they were there.

Speaking of housing items, I've been wondering for a while and never bothered to ask, but my kin on Landroval (LMB) has some sort of "best neighborhood house" trophy or whatever on their lawn. Where does that come from?

I could get on board with that, though. Those TTHTI runs were awesome, and I'm still mad that I missed the runs for both the servers I play on (stupid work schedule).

I agree with everyone who said that other employees who left did not get memorials and so Sapience shouldn't get one. I think that's totally valid.

I also think he did a tough job fairly and fairly well. Being the point person for communications is not love fest. I've often said, if you stand on a street corner giving out gold bricks, some people will complain how heavy they are. I think we lose sight of how good this game is sometimes.

All that said; IF a memorial WERE to be made... I think the best one would be to have a quest giving NPC in a crafting hall give a quest. What is the quest? To bring the NPC's vest to the tailor and ask him to patch it. A timer would start. You have to wait for the tailor to patch the vest. If the players click on the tailor, he should say "It'll be ready soon!". So there you would have it... the player would spend "forever" waiting for a patch and the only feedback we would get about timing is that it would be ready soon!. How better to remember our old friend?

So true. I always read those type of posts and think of the delicious irony of these self-same folks raving in-game about how great one of Sapience's personal characters is--fun to group with and helpful--all the while being completely clueless that it's the same man they take great delight trashing here on the board. I'll just let that sink in a moment...

Yes...and if you click on the tailor later you get a different version of "soon" in his comment, and the time on the timer is extended or shortened depending on which definition shows up. A character in the E & G named "Soon" might also be fitting.

It was the housing version of the Fashion Maven. It was called "Better Holes and Gardens." From time to time a GM would wander through neighborhoods placing the trophy on the lawns of the houses they thought were the best decorated.

Those are rotten apples...at least the ones I still have in my inventory are. I figured they were Appledore's culls after harvest.

I remember this. I got one on Eldar when it was under Codemaster's rule (and I think it's still at my house there). Has it been made available on Turbine servers since F2P?
