    2015-2016 PvMP and Player Councils

Did Turbine ever make an official announcement beyond "we're taking resumes" for the 2015-2016 Councils?

I saw the reference to them with the Osgiliath PvMP map, but I'm curious what council is actually reviewing the map.

Both councils have have been chosen and are working. In particular, the PvMP council members are the ones giving us feedback on the new map, among other things. We will be making the full announcement of the council members and such next week.

    Per Frelorn:

New PvMP Map: It is true, we are currently working on a new PvMP map which will take place in a version of Osgiliath. We are designing this space now and it should be going through its first round of feedback with the Player’s Council in the near future. It will also be getting extensive Beta feedback on Bullroarer when ready and released this summer.

I feel some people have forgotten:

In addition to the regular Player’s Council, we will be accepting application for a special PvMP player’s Council that will solely focus on helping us make PvMP better. This will include feedback on skills, features and balance. Members of this group will be separate from the regular Player’s Council, and cannot be a part of the regular Player’s Council, so that they can keep the focus on making PvMP better for everyone. We ask that anyone applying for this special council that you are a dedicated PvP’er and that your main goal is to make the game better and not just favoring the side you may play.
From the 2015 Player Council Application Information.

Thanks. I really hope that the pvmp will be separate from PvE. I think thats the only way to balance the PvmP. Things like daring isnt useful if no one take it anymore. Separates Pve and PvMP in development.

Not really, because I know some of the people in the (PvMP) Player Council... And I can safely say things are looking bad.

No. I'm not going to call specific people out. It's just that I know two particular individuals from my former server, and they are generally seen as zergbabies and incompetent QQ'ers. Not exactly what a PvMP Council needs.

I sincerely hope the PvP-PC doesn't have any major influences on the fundamental ideas.

The new map... Is is replacing the old one or are we going to have 2 separate maps?

I know that having 2 maps at the same time will make PvMP look deserted, but I'd rather ask and have a definite answer.

Answer from Frelorn: "As of right now the plan is for the Ettenmoors to stay and have Osgiliath be a separate zone. With the populations being condensed into a smaller number of servers, we feel this is a good option as the PvMP populations will be far less spread out. Having 2 areas will hopefully allow for whatever playstyle you prefer in your PvMP."

    What constitutes a competent PvMPer?

I don't think that is any relevant to the discussion.

You described the players that you knew were on the PvMP council as 'incompetent' - so surely it is relevant for you to explain how you came to this judgement, and why this makes them unsuitable for the PvMP council? I agree that Turbine are likely to gather up some terrible PvMPers in their council, but its a tad subjective as to what we define this as.

How is their incompetence not relevant? I would explain it, I just feel like it would derail this thread. But read on and I'll explain...

Experience. One of them is a guardian I frequently sparred. One day I relogged freep to chat with him. I had to explain him where his heals were coming from. If that is not a good example, I don't know what is. Funny fact: the guy is R15
The other one is a trash talker who accused me and my kin of using "exploits" to beat creeps. As you can guess, no exploits were used, and no examples of these exploits were ever given.
I don't have faith that these people will have any useful contributions to make.

Thanks for the feedback. The OP's original question has been answered and there are a couple post here walking the line of making this thread go wrong. Closing it down.
