But havent yet checked that park at night time myself.. Maybe there is some pattern to them still..

Even if they don't currently symbolise the servers that are staying on/willing be closing, I think it would be a fitting tribute to have those that do close with their flames burning bright even after they come to their end

In the absence of any other information being provided by yourselves, it's not surprising that people make these assumptions given the sensitivity of the subject. Good to know that's what you think of the communities that are going to be impacted by the server closures.

to be honest, is a few players who jumped immediately to such conclusion, that stirred this 3 page thread. I get the situation is sensitive, and it can lead to panicking, but really... those were just lanterns with plaques of Bounty on, and the light gives a bit of atmosphere. If those really were to symbolize server closures, then the Gilrain one should have been surely lit as is so low pop server. Or to symbolize servers staying, then brandywine one should have been lit. It is a pretty way of remembering how all servers were before the transfers, nothing more nothing less. And the devs who responded here were simply being humorous. Cheer up!

Whichever it is, to remain open or to be closed, if this is Turbine's way of telling us which ones are closing down it's a totally stupid and downright insulting way of doing it.

With so many lanterns all close together you can't really have them all lit, as the area would become too bright and washed out in ambient light, no shadows etc, so they picked some at random, simples.


No dev would risk a covert 'outing' like this unless they were ready to ruin their career.

If I wanted to patronize, I wouldn't post at all because it's not good form and I wanted to put people at ease with humor and actual information.

As someone who has been playing MMOs for quite a long time, I'm pretty familiar with people jumping the gun based on innocuous things and if I'm able, I like to nip things in the bud and put everyone at ease. In this case, an artist didn't set things up the same for all the lanterns, which is why some were lit and some were not.

We care about the game. If there's a big change like what's happening with the servers, we'll tell you up front and not place something in game with no info
