We were able to add additional hardware to the current Brandywine servers and were seeing this strategy working well for the other servers who are now as large as Brandywine. With the delay in the build out we decided to open that server as well to those player who have been waiting as the additional hardware would help with the additional population. We will do an analysis this week to see how the servers are holding up and if we need to can close transfers again as needed.

I have a quick question if you or anyone could answer it - what time PST would the transfers from Imladris be opening tomorrow? I know I can get to it anytime, but I'd like to get my *kids* all settled before I go out for the day to take care of less important things

Seems to me like they're being pretty even-handed about it. What have they done that you judge to be unfair?

Closing Snowbourn instead of Evernight was a blunder arguably, but that wasn't of any benefit to US players.

Guess what, Vilya and Meneldor are part of the dead last US servers that are still waiting, don't think the EU servers are getting any 'special' treatment here.

Um...They've been opening the EU servers first every time they open new transfers. Usually EU server on Monday, US server on Tuesday.

BW got some extra power added to it, it's not on the new hardware yet. It's the most populated server and needed a boost. Still does from what I hear.
They actually added a bit more power to all the servers so they could resume the transfers.

Per this list: https://www.lotro.com/en/game/articl...e-announcement, Dwarrowdelf follows Imladris. When Dwarrowdelf will be opened for transfers, though, is yet to be determined. Given that there is going to be a downtime this Wednesday, they might open Dwarrowdelf on the 24th.

They are not. Meneldor is scheduled to be the very last server to transfer, which is a US server.

Also, EU servers are always first to move in the week (Monday), where US servers are not scheduled till Tuesday. I'd say the EU and US server schedules are pretty equal, besides the 1 day delay for the US, and Meneldor being scheduled last.

We tend to have the transfers open sometime around 11am EST, but it is not always exact as it is a manual process.

When I transferred my Kin leader account with 14 characters this morning from Imladris to Crickhollow only 4 of the characters were re-added to the kinship. Is this a typical issue?

Yes, I've heard of that happening, if you transfer them all at once. The order they get brought over isn't necessarily kin leader first, which is the problem. The recommended method is to first transfer only the kin leader character (with shared, if also home owner) and then transfer others in a second transfer after the first has completed. That way you can be sure that the kin leader is already there on the destination server before any other chars come across.

Thanks for the heads up. I thought I had been keeping up on all the nuances of the transfer process but obviously I missed this crucial step.

Or is it still just a temporary relaxation of the rules which means the problem is just put off to resurface again in January? And if we can transfer off Laurelin to Evernight can we get back the original names of our characters that were compulsorily renamed under those rules?

(I have already deleted my character, but I have some friends who have quit because of this and I hope there is a chance I can lure them back if they can get their names back)

sure. create a character on Evernight with the same name of your current renamed char. When the transfers between remaining worlds will open, transfer your laurelin char to evernight so it gets the -1 and a free rename token. delete dummy char and name yourself as it was before. So you see no need to ragequit or delete chars out of rage.

naming thing is not an issue anymore, and more drama is unnecessary. All the best.

The Laurelin naming issue is temporary, meaning that at some point in the future, the RP naming rules will come back into effect, and I am sure the name nazi's are already compiling a list of names to report on the day that it does.

Since the closing of servers has been postponed to 2nd quarter 2016 due to the fact the hardware renew was delayed, there is a chance that the naming rules will also be extended to match that date, but I am not sure of that. In any case, at SOME point the RP naming rules will be in effect again, so if you want to prevent that you will have to move to Evernight. I believe that there will be opportunities to do so, and I would suspect that free moves between Laurelin to Evernight will be allowed BEFORE the naming rules are put in effect.

Whether you can get back the names, depends on whether they are available. To force a rename on your character, do what has been suggested above: Create a character with the current name of your Laurelin character on the Evernight server. Then, when you transfer, you will get a Name-1 and a free rename credit. But whether you can get back the OLD name completely depends on whether that name is available on Evernight. You can create characters with the names you want on Evernight NOW, and delete them right before you do a rename..... That is about the only way to do it. You won't get the name if someone else on Evernight already has it in use, whether that be an existing Evernight player, or someone recently transferred in from one of the other servers that have been allowed to transfer.

Once those are on you accounts and we open transfers again between the remaining worlds, transfer will work the same way it does now for free ones, only instead of seeing "FREE" under the cost column, you will see 1 token for each character you have selected to transfer if the transfer is from a PAID server. At check out if you do not have enough tokens on your account, you will be linked to the site where you can purchase more to complete the transfer or choose to change the characters you are moving. Closing world transfers will still say FREE as will the world of the week/ month during the time when we will be allowing 10 Remaining worlds to redistribute. We will be giving each remaining world 1 free week in rotation followed by a one month rotation for each. I will have the schedule up for these on the website before the new data center is live.

Some of the remaining servers are getting the majority of the population. Arkenstone is filling up quick, and I am already moving out of landroval from the mass that flooded there. It seems these servers are now more populated than brandy. This needs addressed or we are just going to have one - two low pop servers and three servers at the maximum limit
