One more Noob Questions on Classes

Sorry for banging this same Gong, but this is where I am in the learning curve

how close to correct would I be to say people are somewhat blasse about Captains and Champions, only mildly interested in Guardians, And love, Lore Masters, Hunters, Burglars, Minstrels (and of course some hate them) and Wardens. And somewhat ambivalent to Rune Keepers (of which I am clueless) and Boerg..Boer..the Bear guys....

I think it's impossible to generalize like that. Each class will have people that love/hate that class. They all have different strengths/weaknesses and playstyles, and will get love/hate depending on context (e.g. soloing, grouping, pvp, ranged, melee, tanking, dps, healing, etc.). This game is very good at allowing people to find a class that fits their playstyle.

it is totally different if you mean 'like to play a certain class' or 'like to have a certain class in a group'

just everyone likes to have a captain or loremaster in his group as they contribute much to success.
but playing those classes is not as cool, as everyone else does more damage etc.
guard is just the most wanted tank, as he has no problem tanking anything and is easy to play and can do many things solo.
still, if you run around in a group and want to do damage, there is nearly no worse choice than guard.

there are people liking and hating just any class. better ask direct questions about classes

i for one like all classes. and if there were more classes, i would try them out. no matter what they do. i just like to have many different toons and playstyles :P

if you want high sustained dps, go for rk/warden.
if you want big numbers, go for hunter/champ/loremaster
if you want aoe, go for champ/warden
if you want burst, go for hunter/minstrel/loremaster
if you want high survivabilty, go for guard/cappy/warden/beorn
if you want good cc, go for loremaster/rogue
if you want to support your group, go for cappy/loremaster(/rogue)
if you want to be sneaky, go for rogue
if you want to heal much, go for rk/minstrel/beorn


of course, others might have different views on this list. or may feel, that some classes totally miss in some points... just a little try
