I had trouble connecting, and now have 200ms+ latency (normally around 100) and 20% packet loss...

When you say you cant get back in are you receiving an error code, timing out without loading in, crashing, etc?

I'm not the person you're replying too, but it took me several attempts to connect. My login got stuck at install pre-requisites, then at connecting patch server, then at check product, then ingame it was 200ms, 20% packet loss.

qwest (that's Turbine's chosen provider to their datacenter, correct?) does seem to be having issues from multiple directions right now. I'm currently showing 20+% packet loss and 150+ms latency to another qwest border node: nap-brdr-01.inet.qwest.net

    CenturyLink is their datacenter provider.

Qwest was bought by Centurylink, but DNS records like those on traceroutes are often not updated for many years.

Example: Time Warner Cable split off from Time Warner the media company many years ago, which lost them the use of the cartoon "Roadrunner" bird as their logo, but they still use roadrunner.com and rr.com domains everywhere.

I find the highlighted YELLOW hops interesting..... There is really no reason why an internet link between ANY home in the UK and London should be 50ms.... it should be 25ms at most, even if you are up in Scotland.

The ORANGE hops are obviously the biggest issue here, which is located IN or VERY NEAR their datacenter. I am thinking its at their own border router that sits right outside their servers to be honest....

Two issues to look at though, it doesn't appear that ENTA is really providing great latency within the UK, but the biggest issue is near Turbine's datacenter.

The yellow section looks fine again now and was fine just before I did this route. The orange qwest section now seems to be ok again, latency down to 100 and no packet loss.

Almost 10% packet loss within your own network? That would be a killer, right there.... Are you on wireless, wired? Do you have something like bittorrent running that could keep too many connections per second open on your router?

Yes, I noticed that too. I've switched to another router for just in case.

Level 3 (hop 5) has been an issue since the data center move, when they first appeared in the route and this hop has always shown PL and Errors. I swear Level 3 Network Management is asleep at the Network Analysiser.

Hops 12 and up are just an artifact of the program used.

are you working on the game today?

game is badly lagging and i know it is not on my end i did all the tests. Skills going off 30 sec to 45 seconds after being used making it difficult to kill anything. While the skills are lagging so are the mobs so lucky me not getting killed constantly. Something is up with the slow response from skills and BB's are running hard. Don't anticipate many people reaching platinum in all areas today. well hope what ever your doing to the game it helps with this and by the way this is the Evernight server.

Yup Evernight too, middle of the day, expecting less peeps about and find the ride from MT to south gate possibly at it's worst ever, including datacentre move day.

Problem with trying to fix something with any of our help is you have to give us more info. If I could see server pops say I could equate the performance differences I experience from day to day and time to time with logons. If you give some in-game announcements (with an ID) as you try some tweak or other, we might be able to /bug report or post back in greater numbers than your CS guys ever could. If you really wanted our input you could ask on the launcher for /bug reports.

Doing /bug without the possibility of any immediate follow up is trying at best, I'm sure you'll have seen many give up reporting now. Just note the lack doesn't not mean it's "fixed" again, we're just thinking you don't have it in you to fix this new structure. Was a return to Needham in the backup plan and what criteria would mean we return there?

Hasn't it gone too far now that we need the engineers and net opps on the forums without this PR bottleneck?
