    Isyna, Finder of the Orb

What's up with this? Isyna found this thing on Landroval and I think is doing a bug report. But curious if any other servers have it.

It's something devs left behind on accident I think.... there was a red "pointer" somewhere in Lone Lands not long ago that was there until they fixed the zone's issues a few weeks back. (it had some weird openings and invisible walls). I'm pretty sure it is something like that.... a bug report is the right thing to do.

I'm not sure why you can see it, because it's supposed to be invisible! But it's an object that secretly (or not so secretly!) generates the sound of the birds all around Raven-hill. Seeing it is a bug! Hearing it is not.

Would be cool if they gave Isyna that title!

Awesome, I was close in my in-game assessment as others were. It's a visual placeholder for something that's not visual. Thanks for the info. It's odd, but was hilarious to chat about/theorize in WC. Where's that "aliens" meme at .

Good to know what the Mystery Orb is for! I had been quite curious since I found it, and thought it must be something like that. My curiosity has been sated, thank you. It's like a palantir that only communicates with birds.

In case it's relevant to tracking down the bug, I'll add that this isn't new. I saw that orb while I was exploring the zone a couple weeks after it was released. I thought it was part of one on your hidden quests, and so it didn't occur to me to submit a bug report. I tried unsuccessfully to jump to it; decided that I would have to wait for someone else to figure out how to activate the quest; and promptly forgot all about it. I think, at the time, the orb was closer to the stone gazebo than the orb appears in those screenshots, but that was months ago and I could easily be remembering it incorrectly.

Every once in a while, other random game logic assets that aren't supposed to appear somehow do. I've seen screenshots of patrol points, lights, and teleport destinations over the years. Kind of funny - shows a bit of the behind the scenes of our game, I suppose.

I really like these kinds of "bugs". They are a reminder that a game is like a work of art created by people. It didn't just one day appear all finished. People actually sculpted it from nothing and I enjoy getting a peek at the tracks left behind by the wizards behind the curtain

On the Legendary Server I have looked for the group of squirrels running around in a circle around a hobbit, but alas, I have not found them ;(

*It was a bug in the early days. Someone found were you could slip between two of the planes in the mountains in Lone Lands and find this little off the grid pocket. It had a little glade with a hobbit turning in a circle while squirrels ran around him. It was fixed, but I just thought since they brought the Legendary Servers back that perhaps they brought back the "pre-fix" code

Would be awesome to see some of those screenshots.

I spotted the orb months ago and even took screenshots to /bug it, but never got around to filling out the report for some reason or other. It was very interesting to read about its actual function!

If there was interest, we could certainly share some screens of what LOTRO looks like in our tools, with all the Invisible Things made Visible. I promise that nearly none of them happen to be Ring-wraiths! (In fact, it's mostly colored boxes, spheres, and red lines.)

Haha, I actually know of at least one Invisible Ring-wraith! Takes a special kind of 'shroom to be able to see him.

Perhaps I should have said, it would be awesome to see some of these screenshots with a few dev comments about the functions of the Invisible Things. But either way I'd definitely be interested!

I would absolutely love that, especially in areas I know well, like Bree.
