Years ago a lot of people in my kinships (incl. myself) had much more time to play - and probably less other chars who may be in a level range to use a warsteed.

Now you need almost two days to barter for one piece of war steed cosmetics if you aren't sitting on a lot of tokens. And even golden tokens run out fast with prices of 80 tokens.
Last year's mount isn't (eventually) discounted anymore.
New cosmetics can't be shared with kith and kin anymore but must be bartered by each and every one. Yes, there are gift boxes but once opened you are stuck with them.
And play time has grown much shorter.

I'm not even looking at things like colours, scrolls, crystals or figments at this festival.

Harvestmath was fine but Yuletide prices for war steed cosmetics were a dissapointment - especially since the items are really nice. Finally a rather simple head piece.

If mounts and warsteed cosmetics had reasonable prices and/or were available for longer than two years (no, I dont think the MC prices for at least the cosmetics are reasonable) I might not call for encores. But as it is now it helps. Especially with Yuletide as that is a really busy time in RL.
So much this! I found the cost of the war steed cosmetics to be a little crazy. I only have two characters so far that I collect them for, but I actually had to use mithril coins to repeat quests on the last night of festival so I could get all the pieces for them, on top of the other stuff I wanted for other characters.

I have to say that I really don't understand why the cost of 1/4 piece of war steed equipment equals the same as a full travel steed. I just don't feel that a single saddle is the same worth. Can you guys please think about making the war steed pieces reduced to at least half of the full steed costs? Otherwise, it makes collecting them for multiple characters almost impossible, especially if you work for a living. And the cosmetic pets never get reduced, so those are hard to collect as well. When you add up everything that a player wants for each character, it ends up costing a whole lot of time to acquire them. But this is exactly why many of us look forward to and need the encores. They help balance it out. So if you decide to take the encores away, please give us a heads-up in advance, and compensate by reducing cosmetic costs so we don't feel like we were robbed of something good.

    Please and thank you.

Please stop with the encores, I hate to miss out when the festivals are on, but it feels like there's hardly any breathing room between them.
Feel free to make the 2 week ones a little longer in the first place - though 3 is plenty.

I would however love a little barter hub where we can find all the festival vendors and catch up on things after (alright, skip those dyes if you must).

Not quite that simple. Doing solo stuff, sure, but finding people to fill groups is harder to do when there's a festival or other special event going on. Perpetual encores mean more people spending their time grinding just-one-more-alt through the festival rather than being available for other stuff.

I personally like the encores, and so do many others.

Add another yes to festival encores. I wouldn't mind a Summer one in the Northern Hemisphere winter, too.

I fill my group runs MUCH faster when there's a festival going on. It brings more people back and folks running festivals are happy to jump into group runs, in my experience. More players online, faster PUG fills. Of course, YMMV according to 1) server 2) persistence in recruiting 3) patience

In my experience, the opposite happens when festivals are on. Besides that though, I don't think we have ever heard of any player that enjoys Yule, asking for an instance or raid to be turned off, so that they have more choice of players to attend theatre performances, snowball fights or seasonal instances with. I personally wouldn't want any player to lose out on what they want to do, just so that they become potentially available to accompany me on what I like to do. It would be a bit like me trying to remove the ball from a ball game that everyone else is enjoying, just to ensure they come dining, or mountain climbing (or some other activity that I enjoy) with me.

When a uniqe thing appears too often it loses it's uniqueness. Comparison between permanent content and "short" time event has no valid point either. Besides, noone suggests turning Festivals off, we are against Encore- the thing that is already an addition to the standart schedule.

I voice my support and plea for a Yule encore too!

There is one crucial factor in favor of more encores : Recent change of all festival cosmetics to Bind on Account. Meaning, we can't share new cosmetics with friends, can't send them to alts on other accounts.

If you want to get new festival cosmetics to share with absent kinnies who can't do the fest, this means grinding tokens for EACH [Gift-Wrapped] cosmetic box PER person/account. This is a ton more festival activity - on top of the usual festival activity for own toons.

So I'm really happy we've been having more encores over last couple years, and hope this will continue!

To SSG: if you guys are considering doing away with encores, change all festival cosmetics to be UNBOUND again. If you don't plan on reverting all festival cosmetics to unbound, keep the encores coming. That is all.

A yule encore would be nice, but atleast bring back the vendors for a couple days, I have a ton of tokens I had meant to spend but real life got in the way and I missed the last few days >.<

    Encore! Encore! Encore!

Please add me and my family (three humans with accounts!) to the list of those who love a good encore no matter when!

I find the Yule to be especially challenging to find time to do properly. Friends, family, festivities, and the time sink of Christmas (which I love!) keeps us from playing with any consistency during this time.

I agree with this, I never liked that Festival items were now bound to account as you can't trade them freely anymore, I liked trading them so i could share with kin members/friends, but no longer so if they do away with encores yes make them unbound!

I can sympathize with those who'd rather not have festival encores, as it does seem like a never ending festival time in Lotro. And those like myself tend to feel compelled to participate due to the limited nature of festivals.

But on the other hand, having not found much time at all to participate in the Yule festival this year (despite its nice length), I can also sympathize with those who could really use an encore.

I think a Yule encore might be particularly welcome given that the end of the year is typically very busy for a lot of people and they might not get a chance to play. So kinda hoping we get at least that encore.

    Yule Encore

I cannot understand why people are carrying on that they don't want a Yulefest encore, why pitch a temper tantrum because you don't want one because the normal one "lasts too long". The point is no one is forcing you to participate in the festival. I don't care for Hobnigians (too grindy) nor the Pirate weekend (not LOTR at all) but I don't want to deny what another players preferences if that is what keeps players logging on. Heck if they wanted the hobinigians to run 24/7/365 let it if there is demand for it, play if you want or don't play. Do not be the type of player whose opinion causes useless changes because of what you want, it is a community that I would take it have the same love of Tolkien's masterpiece. There are plenty of real reasons to complain but "too much festival" is not one of them.

It is as perfect reason as "I want more festivals". It's just not the reason that suits you, or the reason you expect. Does not make any of the sides/reasons less legit.

As a long term player but festival newbie I would welcome an encore. I only started this festival on the second last day but got hooked, sigh. I am now a festival junkie, (double sigh).

Probably a +Marks bonus weekend, with a typo if it's meant to end on 2/12.

I'm pretty sure that the last general content update brought us a new group instance, which is above and beyond the standard schedule (U23 cluster with it's later raid). I don't see any complaints about that though, because those that do not wish to participate in it, just won't bother doing it, and certainly won't try to label it as "too much instance" for those that enjoy it. It's probably a good thing that they do not want instances turned off, and are not against those "little extras" for those that really enjoy them. I mean . . . why would they be? They are great for the players that want them and they don't affect the players that don't.
