The last of the category links (for now) have been added to the OP. Versus listing that's left to do, I'll just copy and paste the text from my blog!

Things to note:

- Rune-stones, unfortunately will not be included in this guide. The way they're held makes it impossible to take a clear picture.

- Shields are also on the table as well, but I'll look into that after fleshing out some of the earliest posted categories a bit more. Shields will be Phase Two...if I can find time for it.

- Still need to go into multiple categories and update the guides for the Khazad-dum Vaults, Soaring Depths, and the unconfirmed Storied Past sets. Currently, these are mixed in with the "unobtainable" sections at the bottom of each entry. The Thrang's Weapon set also needs to be added. These will probably come before Phase Two. Oh yes, and there's still a bit of touch up work to be done in earlier categories! (The missing skins posted here haven't gone unnoticed!)

• The War-axe of Khand now has a size appropriate to one-handed weapons.

So obviously it's supossed to have changed its look/size (possibly shorter handle, not sure) to fit one handed better, rather than making it two handed. I have not checked it out yet in-game after this.

Personally I would have liked them adding both a one handed and a two handed version. That way we could chose either depending on our personal preference.

Yes, I did see that. And I verified that it's been reduced to the average size of a one-handed axe. It's a shame because it was hilarious dual-wielding two "great" axes!

Looking at it's art-design it is obvious to me that it was originally designed to be a two-handed/great axe. So it was a bit weird that they decided to make it one-handed as the only "fix". They could have let it be for those that have it, add another one-handed as well as a two-handed version. 3 choices for more options. But to not even add a two-handed was kind of the opposite of what seemed logical considering the original art-design. I guess they did that, as if not some classes (that have already bartered for it) that use one-handed might not have been able to use it at all anymore if they only made it two-haned. Still at least a two-handed and a one-handed should be added. Possibly a 3rd version keeping it as it is. However that ship has probably sailed now.

Yes, I am disappointed and I want my big silly axe back, but what's more disappointing is that I submitted a ticket and wasn't allowed a refund after its size was reduced.

I love your cosmetics weapons database very neatly organized & easy to access the images. I have 1 sugestion if you please to take it. Since now musical instruments are visible at al times, & there are so many skins & colors alternate appearances, it will be neat to add another section for those.

Yeah, that's something I've been aware of since U23 launched. I haven't had much time to return to this project, but there are some updates coming which include expanding the earliest categories, adding new ones, and updating some information.

That's something frequently asked of me. Like I've said to others in the past, I've decided to not upload instruments. I wouldn't really consider them practical weapons, since you don't club goblins over their heads with lutes, remove appendages with violin bows, or stab Uruk-hai in the eye with clarinets.

After a six month break, I'm finally resuming work on the Cosmetic Weapons Project (notes copied directly from my blog)!

UPDATE - Version 1.3 (January 27, 2019)

- Some earlier categories, such as swords, staves, halberds, and spears, are being expanded. Given how the project evolved, I feel these need to be brought to the same standard as the others. Thrang's weapons are also on the way.

- Older categories have been updated to reflect changes in currencies and vendors, especially after the transition between the Keepers of Mysteries and Traveller's Quartermaster.

- The LOTRO Store weapons have been given their own section. Any earlier entries containing those skins have been transferred there. As a result, some graphics on this page will change.

- Working on updating guides to include crafted weapons from Update 22 and 23.

- Work on the shields section has finally begun, but this category is more extensive than the previously posted ones. I'd expect to start seeing these later in the year.


Also, the OP has been updated to contain the LOTRO Store Weapons Collection link.

Can anyone tell me which sword is Aragorn using during the Man prologue section? It looks like a two handed weapon but he wields it in one hand (together with a dagger, even, at some point):



Is it something obtainable ingame? Or is it something scripted ad hoc for Strider?

Also, I randomly inspected one guy who apparently could wield both a two hander and a knife, how is that even possible?

I've added more sections to my blog since my last update here. Please refer to the OP for the newer categories.

And shields are also on the way! Starting this Saturday, 9/7/19, one section will be released per day for eight days. I'll add those links as well to the OP once the shields have finished their run!

Once they're uploaded, and I've added in the U23 crafted/dropped weapons, this project will enter maintenance mode and will be updated as necessary!

There are nine one-handed axes in the database with the name [Axe of Goblin-Wars], all of them are between the levels of 52 and 64. I only have the level 52 one, so I can at least confirm that one, but there are two others with the same skin. Those would be the level 60 and 64 versions. I can't definitively say they're still in the loot tables, but those might drop in the Lothlorien area or various places in Mirkwood.

There is one place I can suggest, but you have to have the quest unlocked. The Epic quest instance, 1.15.12 "One Hope Remains" contains level 52-ish creatures.

The level 53 one the wiki lists shares the appearance of the Polished Ancient Steel Axe of Combat, just so you don't go crazy looking for that one instead.

Thank you for the swift and detailed reply. My current lvl 52 farming spot with lots of rapidly respawning (humanoid) mobs was the first goblin camp just into the Silvertine Lodes of Moria, no luck yet.

Okay, everybody! The OP has been updated with the links to the eight shield collections on my blog. Mordor and Ered Mithrin skins have been added. And the War-axe of Khand has been changed to reflect it's current and shrunken one-hand appearance.

I'm officially putting this into maintenance mode. I don't expect to do any more major work on this library, as it's as complete as it's going to get. If anything, I'll update when crafting gets updated.

I honestly didn't expect to come this far. Originally, this was meant to be a small project and to show off a handful of the fancier skins I'd collected these past ten years. Instead, it bloomed into expansive categories showing everything I'd had in my bags and vault storage. And, with some encouraging, it further expanded to showing weapon skins of all shapes and designs ranging from the simple and plain to the embellished and fancy! And then, by popular request some six or seven months ago, I enlarged the project to include shields. Can you believe that I've uploaded 1,012 images since the first entry?

I just realzied that You don't have this bow skin in Your lists (at least I can't see it, maybe I just miss it somehow). I'm refering to the bow in this screenshot.



It's a crafted bow. It's called "Battle Bow Of The Rider". The recipe is just called "Bow Of The Rider". You can barter for it once You have Friend Standing with Théodred's Riders. The recipe can be bartered for in Galtrev, as well as in Forthbrond and Grimbold's Camp.

It's a Tier 7 Woodworker recipe. Westfold woodworker crafting tier. It's a recipe that can have multiple outputs. You know with different stats, but I think all outputs have the same skin/look.

The reason it came to my attention and I noticed it, was that I got a PM from someone asking me what bow it is that my son used on his character on these screenshots that I took.
