Is there a Min Level to Purchase LI Catch-up Boxes?

Where are the LI Catch-up Boxes located in the store? I can't seem to find them anywhere. Is there a minimum level needed to buy them?

    (Inquiring minds and all that...)

That would explain it. Though someone posted a screenshot which indicated the item itself was level 5+. Still, thanks!

Have you ever reconsidered not letting people buy things until they are precisely the right level? Often it would be very convenient to get things a few levels earlier - I would expect that you would have us check off some boxes to confirm at least twice that we understand that the item cannot be used immediately.

That would be very convenient, I agree. And would generate a lot of good will too.

But from SSG's point of view there are always Valars to buy if you really can't stand missing out. $$$, ya know.

So things are probably not going to change.

As much as you or I could say "just add in a few warning checkboxes" and it would be fine for us, I suspect SSG has limits like this in place because they know there are enough players who would just check check check without actually reading that the resulting service tickets could end up with problems and delays that would negate any good will generated from those of us who pay attention to what we are buying.

In other words, "this is why we can't have nice things".

Are the items in the box bound to account or character?

    @SSG_RedPanda (or any blue name.)
Since we are on the subject can I just get some clarification. Are the star lit crystals really suppose to only take your item to tier 62? I assume it would go clear to the final tier of 67 but it doesn't. Is that working as intended? Same with all the scrolls. I am at 77 but none of the scrolls will work to take it any further when the max is currently 83. I would assume "Catch up" would mean take it to the current max.

    From the Article

New Item: Catch-up Boxes for your Legendary Items!

In this box you will find the following:

    100 Single-tier increase Catch-up Scrolls of Empowerment*
    10 Five-tier increase Catch-up Scrolls of Empowerment
    5 Ten-tier increase Catch-up Scrolls of Empowerment
    25 Catch-up Star-lit Crystals*
10 Elegant Heritage Runes of Legend. These will grant item experience points.*
*These items can be applied to any Legendary Item.

    For Non-Imbued Legendary Items

You can use the Catch-up Star-Lit Crystals or Single-tier Catch-up Scrolls of Empowerment the same way you use Star-lit Crystals and Scrolls of Empowerment. Five-tier and Ten-tier Catch-up Scrolls cannot be used on Non-Imbued Legendary Items.

    For Imbued Legendary Items:

The Catch-up Scrolls of Empowerment will function on any Legacy, other than your DPS Legacy, and will increment your Legacies just as other Scrolls of Empowerment do with one exception: You cannot use a Catch-up scroll on an item if it would bring the Legacy unlocks to within 10 Tiers of the current cap. For example, if a legacy is only 14 tiers away from the cap, you will not be able to use the five-tier or ten-tier increase Catch-up scrolls on that legacy.

The Catch-up Star-lit Crystals will function on the main Legacy of your item, including DPS, Tactical Damage, and Tactical Healing Legacies. These Crystals increment your main Legacy just like Star-lit Crystals, with the exception that they cannot be applied to an item if it would bring the main Legacy unlocks to within 5 Tiers of the current cap.

That answers my question I guess. I find it strange though to call it a catch up item but not allow it to max your LI to the current max. Honest when I first read it I thought it was a typo/bug. What would be the reasoning to not allow us to take it to the current max?

Wish I could answer that XD If I could follow their logic (and if I lived in the US) I could apply for a job there XD

I'm gonna guess it was a form of compromise... a way of trying to mitigate the complains about P2W solutions for the LI grind instead of giving the playerbase the in-game solutions they're (we're) asking for.
It was also a test product, since I understand today is the last day it'll be on sale (for now?)

    Please do not buy them.

This is a company selling the solution to a problem they deliberately allow to persist exactly for that purpose. Wouldn't you agree that's a poor business practice?

I encourage you to spend your money on something of actual value, which the game certainly does offer! (content packs, pleasing cosmetics etc).

Yea, I feel like you Moondog... I didn't buy any (and I have plenty toons that would benefit from the time-saving store option). I don't feel like I need to because I only have time to play a couple in endgame group content and those I enjoy gearing and upgrading the honest way: thru instances rewards.

They put out a cash option about 2x cheaper than straight-up MC route, most likely because people who were willing to sink that much $$$ into their LIs have done so and are no longer paying any more.
Of course, after buying that 'catch-up' box, one still would need another 750MC (6000LP) to completely finish that LI. Or 50MC and 10 days of MT dailies.

Oh, and a DECENT company would implement it in a way that keeps track of how many 'catch-up' scrolls or crystals were applied to a given legacy, and limit THAT to max - 5 or max - 10.
Meaning: a regular legacy needs 34 scrolls to fully unlock, so you can apply at most 24 catch-up scrolls. And it does not matter how many normal scrolls this legacy has already had applied. Meaning if you already applied 10+ normal scrolls, you can fully max it with catch-ups. But no, they had to make it in a way that is most disadvantageous to a player who already put some work into his LIs, so that they can squeeze em for more MC later, when they hike up the max tiers again.
