Exclamation PSA: Don't buy Minas Morgul until the store is fixed!

As of some time yesterday, the expansions are being billed for, but no code is sent out (and no support tickets or emails responded to as yet). I was able to confirm in world chat on Landy that at least one other play had the same problem, with the same timing, so this isn't just a random one-off or issue with my account.

As it stands, it seems that people who have been unfortunate enough to buy the expansion are now stuck in the support queue. Please don't waste your money until the store is fixed. I gather that support queues in 2019 are measured in weeks and months, so those of us unfortunate enough to have purchased the expansion in this time window are now stuck either having to pay twice and hope that a refund finds its way through at some point in the new year, or else wait for SSG/Digital River to work out what they have done and fix it, which I am rather doubtful will happen this side of 2020.

Fingers crossed that this didn't hit anyone who received the expansion for Christmas (especially any kids)!

Just in case anyone wants to compare notes, I have received both the initial email (no code), and a second email (no code) with an invoice. That second email refers to a simultaneous email which should be sent containing the redeem code, but no second email appears to be generating. The 'find my order' functionality is also broken on the Digital River site, but I suspect that is because the order itself has a fault, rather than a completely distinct website problem (would be an odd coincidence).

Wow, Lotro is goin downhill everyday. Iits sad, im a fan of lotro but lost interest almost when Ered Mithrin came and no challenge in further instances, more mtx and p2w. SSG and even Turbine are thinking short term profit and not over time. Thats the problem. I still havent bought the new expansion yet and i dont think i'm gonna. Testing Wow right now to have something to play, and i like it so far, less lag, better optimized and so on....

I can make a lot of suggestions to SSG. I already did 2 in another thread. - Make the new crafting-bags and easier SoE grind for VIP. Thats only 2.. Tthink i and more of us can name more... But they dont care...

The in game store and the LOTRO market are two separate places. Minas Morgul is currently only available via the LOTRO Market. Sometimes the email containing the code will go to the spam folder, so give that a check. Also, the product key for Minas Morgul is listed as "Digital Rights" in the email from Digital River, so you can try looking for that as well.

Thank you for the reply. There was no email with 'Digital Rights' - including in junk, but curiously a couple of hours ago the 'Find Order' function started working. I have managed to generate a code. I would encourage anyone else who is having this issue to check that. It is curious though, that even since generating the code manually, I still don't have an email with it or explaining how to do so.

I have not bought the new expansion either and do not plan to. I was so disappointed with Mordor that I doubt I will ever by another expansion. I've switched to Star Wars: The Old Republic. I'm not a big Star Wars fan but the game mechanics are similar and the storylines are fun. The game is more expensive than LOTRO but well worth it, imo.
Unless stated otherwise, all content in this post is my personal opinion.

The game is much cheaper than lotro. You get everything in the game + all expansions by going VIP.. How can it be more expensive lol. Also, as a free player you can still do all class stories completely free, and its enough to hit max level. I beleive the 1-50 content is completely free without any restrictions.

no, it is not. you have to pay to equip certain equipment, that can even drop within the first 10 levels....

In Lotro you need to grind for ages to unlock areas to even be able to quest.. by certain equipment its rare drops that are not needed to level up.

If you like the game, subscribe and EVERYTHING is included, even expansions.

    Lotro is way more expensive.

Well, I don't play that game, but all I can say on that is, in LOTRO, you have to pay $50 to carry one (single) decent weapon, or grind to the point that the content you need it for is old before you're done.

I have a similar problem. bought the Minas Morgul via the ingame get this region, who open the market, I purchase it, and it gone off my bank account. no email, or message as yet since 28/012/2019, I even tried the find my order and it show no order at all, I logged several tickets and the only answer I got from support, If you have not received your code yet reply to this email, I send them proof of my payment and its now again 24 hours later and no answer back from them. unfortunately I cant afford to buy another one, and if I don't get a code or answer or refund from them very soon, its bye bye lotro for ever.

You don't ge tired to bash lotro, do you? Nobody needs a full maxed LI to play the game so your sentence is completely wrong.

I criticise when criticism is due. I also, praise, when praise is due. Please re-read my post, particularly the last line . . . "the content you need it for is old before you're done."

You're right, we don't need maxed LIs for many parts of the game. We do for other parts - hence "the content that you need it for" in my post.

You don't get tired of bashing other players for their views, do you? Not your place. My sentence is fine, your reading was a bit hasty.

If the content you *needed* it for gets old to you, did you really need it in the first place?

Not old to me. Old to the game. For example, some may need the maxed LI to do the four MM instances at t3+, but by the time they "grind" out those weapons, the 6 man and raid will be here, and those four instances will be old, with hardly anyone running them because the rewards (armour obtained by either relic barter, crafting or 3 man instance drop) will be replaced with better reward in the newer content. I'm already donning maxed LIs on the alts I'm taking through current MM t2/3+ content, no concerns there. But I have no delusions that some of my other alts can make the LI grade by the time the next lot of group content arrives. Sure, I could start the grind for them now, but by the time they've done it, MM three mans will be long left behind.

    Not at all surprising.

I love how some people like to say, nobody needs an LI for anything in the game. So . . . why the heck are so many of us running around with them? We must all be lovers of easymode.

I dont want to be harsh to you. But every time I read a post from you it's like "OMG, don't play it. They are stealing money from you." And a lot of threads have nothing to do with LI or the shop but it seems you
nudge them into this direction and it always ends in the same discussion...

Also, when you make the purchase the code is displayed ON THE SITE, so you don't have to wait for an email. Just copy/paste the key into your own document for safe keeping, and paste it into the client when you log on next. My email didn't arrive till 45 minutes later, but I had already activated it within 2 minutes of purchase.

Oh, but you were harsh, but don't worry about it, harsh - doesn't bother me. Feel free to swing away. The reason the LI thing keeps coming up with me, is because, apart from the abysmal crafting update, that is probably the only real bug bear that I have with the game. They're not stealing anything from me by the way - they don't get a penny out of me at the moment, nor will they, until they make the game more fair for all players, particularly, newer ones. I don't need any LIs, I have 7 characters that have maxed ones, but a lot of friends of mine, can't catch up.

I'm more than happy to financially support the game, as I have done . . . for years, but that's a two way street and they have to walk it as well.

This thread has everything to do with the shop, but it wasn't me who brought up paying for stuff, it was . . . someone else. I just responded.

I was thinking of the 6 month sub fees for SWTOR vs yearly sub fee for LOTRO. SWTOR is $154.98/yr where LOTRO is $99/yr.

I see, even though.. If you pay 6months sub for Lotro the expansions are not included. Plus Lotro has a lot more p2w/p2skip stuff, you literally can't move into Mordor without weeks/months of grind or pay up.

And you can add another 170$ for all the lotro expansions.

I've been leveling all of the other classes this month and the gear you get for quest rewards is more than enough to do the content. You are spreading misinformation about the game frankly.

LOTRO can't compare when you talk about monetary value. If you sub to swtor right now you unlock ALL of the existing expansion leveling content forever. Try adding the cost of the LOTRO expansions up and tell me how much that would cost you in cash right now.

LOTRO also sells you all kinds of power for money. They have one of the least customer friendly monetization models in the market. And that's without even talking about the money grubbing of their LI grind shortcuts.

It's funny how much one player ask to boycott buying lotro expansion because he had a problem and try to generalize to all other instead of doing a ticket or be patient like all other players does.
