How good of a cook do you think Gandalf is?

With his awesome pyrokinetic powers, one of his specialties is ..."Flash-Cooked Goblins". (It's an acquired taste, really. But I wouldn't bother him with frying fish or boiling potatoes.)
“Some believe it is only great power that can hold evil in check, but that is not what I have found. It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay; Small acts of kindness and love. Why Bilbo Baggins? Perhaps because I am afraid, and he gives me courage.” ~J.R.R. Tolkien

Well, he's good at cooking up fireworks!

Considering the amount of time he spends with Frodo in Bilbo's bedroom, I'd say probably not, no.

Wink How good a cook do you think Gandalf is?

He was never mentioned to be a renowned chef, but he at least must be good enough cook, to don't die of starvation, while he wanders Arda in a mortal body. Apart of that, we know that he can cook fireworks!

I am sure that Gandalf has come across many recipes and tomes expounding on all sorts of methods and theories of cooking in all the time he has spent studying the libraries of Middle Earth. However, just because someone has studied the works of Shakespeare does not mean that someone can create a masterpiece similar to Shakespeare. Nonetheless, one might be able to create something reminiscent of Shakespeare if one studies enough and puts the time and effort into it. I just don't see any evidence that Gandalf has put the time and effort into learning to cook well. Thus, I think he probably can cook well enough to keep himself fed, but not well enough to entertain a party with his food. His party specialties and interests lie in other areas.

If he was a great cook, perhaps he would have invited the Dwarves to his own house rather than Bilbo's!

Don't know, but he's a servant of the secret fire and his staff secretly wishes it was a wooden spoon.

How good of a cook is Gandalf?

Given that flash-forzen food is terrible, id imagine flash-cooked food is just as bad

How good of a cook is Gandalf?

Why would a wizard need to cook? Can't he just magic the food to be done?
