They also changed the ticket system so all of the old tickets are just gone.

Yeah, I have noticed the same.
You now report spam and harassment through the same system as everything else, which can be accessed through our new Help UI in game. You can read more about today's change here.
So to help you and my fellow players with a gold spammer. I now need to go through these steps?
- i'll have to sign in.
- Click I've a problem with a player.
- Fill in Subject
- Description. Remember the guys name while he keeps spamming
- language
- platform + lotro
- my accountname
- my character name
In the meantime the guy is still spamming. I'll still have to right click and put him on ignore.
Versus. Right click report gold spam (ignore in the same action.
This will only results in me (and probably most other players). Just right click ignore while letting him run rampant for the 999 other players on Evernight. The end result you not getting any quick informations for your GM's. And plenty of new players getting more and more annoyed.
PS: your ticket entry completely resets to knowledge base part if you Travel, Port or even exit a private encounter world issue.
This should be a general improvement in that everything will now live under the same system, and that system has the ability of you to track tickets, among other things.
This reminds me of the episode of IT Crowd where Ozzy is typing in all the information in an email while the fire is spreading around the office.
So I experimented with a few things. Most of this was all about setting it up. One thing you can do is reposition where the help button is. You can press the down arrow to the left of your weapon sphere to open up your UI Settings in Options. Then you can add "HELP" as a button where you want onto your toolbar. Instead of trying to hit escape button and the help button, you can now just press the question mark on your bar. This process is the same way you would add the Allegiance tab as a button as well.
Then you need to create an account. This won't be your log-in information. This will be tied to your e-mail address. Slightly annoying, but resetting my password for something I don't remember because I barely used enough was easier than I expected. I signed in once, and only once. I restarted the client. I restarted my computer. I logged into another account. It was still active.
The categories are a little weird because they aren't things I would expect. Instead of "Knowledgebase" I expected "FAQ". "Contact Support" is appropriate, but I guess I still expect "Submit a Ticket". The ticket system is actually pretty neat. One thing I found interesting is that the system retained my ticket information... from 4 years ago. I'm a bit confused on the last one where "Report a Bug" is just "Contact Support" with the one drop-box already pre-selected.
The one thing I am not happy with is having the "Report a Gold Spammer" option gone from the interface. Perhaps right-clicking a person's name and clicking "Report Harassment" was too easy and being abused somehow? In any case, moving it to a full-report isn't going to solve the problem. It just wants me to "Ignore" whoever is spamming and move on. I don't want to type in their name, repeat what they said, and especially not worry about filling in all the other required boxes. What would be good is if you made it so we could "Report Player" on the spot and have the interface come up with the name already added and the statement automatically filled in with a simple button at the bottom where we press "Submit." That would at least be a compromise I would be willing to accept.

Looking though all the threads of people waiting months for answers to tickets, I'd like to see proof of there even being a CS team anymore.
No one cares how many weeks later it takes CS to deal with a spammer.
We got a reference number with every spam reported, use that if anyone does care.
Does none of the nonsense you are asked to spiel have you question it at all?
this is another one of those changes that does not contribute to a good consumer experience.

100% agreed; this is a massive step backwards from a UX standpoint when it comes to reporting gold spam or harassment. It may be better for issues that actually require some level of interaction between GMs and players (even if that interaction is "something broke - we fixed it"), but we don't need a response when reporting anything - be it gold spam, harassment, names, cheating, etc.
I imagine that the new system is significantly easier from a CS standpoint, which I can laude as a Customer Service employee, but adding some way of reporting issues like gold spam or harassment that interact with the new system is critical.
dont worry the dev's are working on a fix that fixes the fix that fixed the fix that was fixing the fix....
Why do I get the impression that we have just witnessed reverse time travel ! Make the system FAST ! I mean FAST ! AND IN GAME ! Right click " Name " + Ignore + spam = done ! Elapsed time hmmm 2 secs ?
