Cord of the rings 7th Jan: Quick Notes

Firstly, really want to say huge thanks for these streams. Really good. Always informative. Absolute legend.

I just thought I would share key bits of info of the game I grabbed from the stream. I'm low on time, anything I missed please add!

WARNING: This is not a translation exactly. This is notes I made. Semantics will be off. This is for quick TLDR of parts of a 2hour stream.

    End game instances:

    Tentative for next Wednesday

HoR T3 deed "Leading the charge" will now be active until march 2nd

    HoR Boss 3:
    - Health reduced
    - will use skills differently

    HoR Boss 2:
    - Health reduced
    - Blizzard will be slower on lower difficulties
    - Some skill damage reduced
    - Area of effect damage increased
    - Darkness consumed is now a limited area of effect and does less damage

Reward vendor for HoR to be added

AoD is having Scion buffs removed from boss fights

    New Website:

New website! looks better, more functional, still work in progress.

May not include the forums. Will warn way in advance of anything.

May be issues with forums names, will look into them. Please don't steal the name "Cordovan".

    Class Balance:

Meeting happening, one happened just today about priority of class balance.

    Brawler and Warden specifically mentioned.

Warden self healing, and in general.

Need to validate with data, and community feedback.

Brawler is most likely to bump up dps stats across board

    Reward Track:

Planned in Update 32 in Febuary

    Console Port?

Cord was able to port LOTRO to the mini PC Atari VCS but had crashing issues.

Edit: This is a funny. Not serious. Sorry

    Shirtless stout axe?

    No

    Geode event

Geodes do not drop more, there are simply a lot more geodes spawning in more locations.

The Atari VCS is this that Cordovan has: https://atarivcs.com/

Youtube Review Links + Other Info:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQ_tZ5o8_fg

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7DP4BouzT4

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pt0_bI2be4

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6sAnRLmLsI

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSKTYPXgWsU

So it's not a "Console Port". The Atari VCS is just a Mini-PC running a Ryzen APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) which is a CPU & GPU in one. It can be run as a Console with the Atari Software they have built in or a "regular" Computer. It's all just in a Shell that looks like the Classic Console.

The Atari System itself is the priority for this Mini-PC and the first linked Youtube Video by GamersNexus goes into detail about this and while say Windows 10 can be installed the Atari Software basically might lead to various results and give some issues getting installed. But it should still be able to do such.

So it might be due to the Hardware + Atari Software that is leading to issues Cordovan is experiencing with LOTRO and running such on this Atari VCS Mini-PC. Especially if you check the 3rd Youtube Link and how 10 games play on this Mini-PC and that X Games did up to X FPS + Resolution due to being well optimized such as Overwatch. Based on it's Hardware this Mini-PC is not meant for anything above Older Games, 720p, 60 FPS (pending the Game) and really more geared towards Emulation especially on older Systems up to the Playstation 2.

This link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSKTYPXgWsU has some elements where Bios, etc can be adjusted to get some more Performance out of the Hardware but will still be limited by the Ryzen APU in it.

Don't read anything into the VCS bit of chat as that is just me being an old school video game nerd, as Harvain says it's just a mini-PC that runs Windows.

One quick clarification: The new LOTRO.com will be coming first, then the forums later. New LOTRO.com coming soon!

Sorry, realise adding the "Console Port?" joke will be amiss in this kind of information. Hopefully added a clarification.

I just found it really funny. Alot of people asking when will it come out on Apple II and such. Deffo wanna see more of that! Just my bad for mixing it into a more serious / informative post.

February is usually my worst month of the year morale-wise so good timing!

LOL This is insane to me. On Treebeard, my 50 Brawler kills things with ease on Deadly 0 difficulty. On Landroval, my Valar'd 130 Brawler destroys anything it wants with barely a glance. The only thing I would change about Brawler currently is the effect range of its group buffs - 5m is far too short to effectively buff a group.

Every class kills things with ease on the landscape. They want to boost Brawler sustained damage to the level of an actual DPS class.

Oh, people are gonna go ballistic and take it is a confirmation of a scheduled console port.

It's one reason why I posted all that info to get ahead of such as some folks would take what was stated in the spoken word as a "Console" was able to do LOTRO and that Cordovan spilled the beans on some secret project he was working on.

Which the Atari VCS "was" originally mostly being marketed as a "Console that is also a PC" where as now it's more marketed as a "Mini-PC or Streaming Computer".

SSG has to be careful with any "Console Talk" here in 2022 until they talk about what their 2022 Plans are as X amount of folks both within and from the outside looking in are under the assumption that EG7's announcements 2 years in a row are the "The Plan" instead of what they actually are of being "The Goal" for LOTRO.

Any "wild guess ETA" for how long after new website the forums will be returning?

    Thank you Cordovan

(I ask since our family will not connect to/visit any Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, or other public social media platforms, so we are curious how long until we can see official LotRO news again)
