What is the purpose of the piece? If it is to make a setting for the area, it does it very well. However, if it is to help the players of the game, a link to a list of quests for the area would make it more player-friendly.
Juliea, lvl 100, Minstrel; Ardiel, lvl 95, Guardian; Arrolyn, lvl 97, Hunter; Ardiwen, lvl 95; Rune-keeper; Caril, lvl 95, Lore-master; Juliwen, lvl 95, Warden; Jolete, lvl 95, Champion; Paula, lvl 95, Captain; Mahira, lvl 93, Burglar; Sonjae, lvl 8, Beoring
does staddle have a little tavern? or do the hobbits all go to bree... i just don't remember seeing one there.
that little grocer is kinda cranky.
Arrolyn, you'll find that the quests which start in Staddle can be found in the Lorebook, which is where all of that information is being compiled. This is just a bit of background for the town, perhaps a teaser of the lore of the area (most of these articles work like that, just like a travel brochure).
Bagoas, there is no tavern in Staddle, but the town is what you might call a suburb of Bree, with the farms beyond that. So, the Prancing Pony is fairly close-by. And yes, the grocer hasn't been making much money lately, so he's a bit disgruntled, yet he still likes to help out the farmers in the area.
There are a lot of fun quests centered in Staddle, a great number of them, in fact, considering how small the town is. One of my favorite quest lines runs there, between two farmers ... I'll say no more.![]()
Yeah, the quests in and around Staddle are nicely written, and there are plenty of good adventure hooks that direct you to other regions for more adventures, which is a good thing in my book.
(run-on sentence ftw)

I believe the purpose of this thread is for your feedback to the article and not your opinion of a player's response here.

I love Staddle! Awesome quests and a really great cohesivness about it all. Very well done. The article could have had a bit more back-story to it--give some of those who haven't read the books a bit more info to read and such.![]()

Hummmm interesting that there is no mention of the good farming land found around Straddle. Isn't almost the only area outside the Shire that supports, farming? I don't know if Buckland does or not.
Also is it ever explained why there are Hobbits so far from the Shire? I am not sure I remember seeing that in game.

The books mention that some hobbits live in Bree, (particularly in Staddle, I believe it mentions) and that they are untrusting of 'outsiders' (Shire-folk).
As for why - wouldn't Barliman's food be a good enough reason?!!? A hobbit never leaves a good meal, especially with the promise of more to come!!![]()

Who voiced an opinion about any player's response?
I'm not sure if this post was directed at me, or not... or what it meant. Two people, yourself one of them, asked questions to which I happened to have the answers, so in the spirit of fellowship and general helpfulness, I answered those questions. Neither of the questions seemed to be phrased as opinions, but as requests for information.
Again, I'm not certain as to whom you were speaking, but if it was to me, I voiced no opinions about the responses of others.
