    In-Game accessability suggestion

The ability to access the LoreBook while in-game is great, but it needs to be easier to find & use. Currently, as far as I can tell, to access the LoreBook while in-game, the path is as follows:

Options > Help > FAQ > search for LoreBook > click on the 'Here' link in the search result.

Then the LoreBook opens in the Help window which requires scrolling sideways to read anything, and there is no way to back up once you go to an article.

My suggestion is to add the LoreBook to the Options panel as its own link and have the link open in a resizable in-game window with a 'back' button as well as a way to bookmark pages that you wish to reference often such as crafting recipes or long quests.

    Re: In-Game accessability suggestion

No one has a comment on this issue?!

In-game access is supposed to be a major feature of the LoreBook, but currently it is hidden so deeply that unless everyone who plays also visits the forums regularly and reads the announcements, no one would even know it is open for use, much less know it can be used while in-game.

I know it is still in beta, but the best way to get it moving and to work out the bugs is for people to use, update, and access it. If they can't find it, how are they going to use it?

Does anyone have any info on how this is going to be addressed? Or better yet, a response from someone in Turbine who is working on the LoreBook with regards as to how they plan to impliment the in-game access would be great (I certainly hope it isn't going to stay as is because it is nearly useless the way it's accessed currently... for those who know how to find it, or to even look for it in the first place).

My only comment is that I had no idea that in-game access was even live yet, and that even if I did (given your description), I'd rather use my browser for access than the in-game browser.

    So no constructive comment, no.

It looks like you found an indrect way to get to the lorebook from the in-game browser. The help system uses the browser and you found a help article with a link to the lorebook.

The problem of course, is that it's pulling up the whole lorebook site which doesn't fit.

One of the things on our backlog is to create a new "in game" skin for the Lorebook. This will be a stripped down version with menus across the top so that it will fit in the narrow in-game browser window.

We discussed doing that for the next round of updates but felt maps and advanced search were more important at the current time. We felt that getting the Lorebook to a more feature complete stage before making it an integral part of the game inteface would be best.

Thank you very much Aylwyne. I had figured since the Beta was now open to player editing that it was also available in-game. I had not realized that I had simply found an indirect opening.

I agree with you're decision that maps and advanced search are more important and look forward to these and the game interface.

Thanks again for clearing this up... much appreciated.

I'd like to see a very minimalist implementation for the Lorebook.

No fancy splash screen like on the web - just simple and easy to use.

Give us feature-complete search abilities - let me search for 'tailor recipes' and get a list of all the recipes in a nice chart, with the ability to view them as a flat list and select if I want to see ingredients, item stats, crit item stats, mastery items needed, etc.

    Same goes for quests, etc.
