Thread: Hunter wipe

    Re: Hunter wipe

Heres a tidbit I learned about target assist; Last nite I went back into Carn Dum with my kin.
At the exact same place that I caused a wipe earlier, I made sure I had my target assist on the leader of the group.
We cleaned out the area almost completely, with one bunch left to go, and My last button push caused the arrow to go exactly to the same boss as last time! :P
Still, this time, there was no wipe. We won the encounter. The leader must have been tabbing around himself and my last attack went off at the same instant. So, beware all hunters, it can still happen to you!

Ranged classes (or melee classes w/ ranged AA available) targeting thru the TA with target forwarding is a recipe for disaster as you've witnessed. The good news is, there's a better way.

For melee classes who don't have a ranged AA option, target forwarding is OK, but it should ONLY be used by a ranged mob if the person you're forwarding thru knows that you're doing it and is used to having people forward thru him/her.

    1) Use the target assist box to select the TA's target.
    2) Stay on that target until it's dead (naturally there are exceptions to that part).
    3) When target 1 is dead, select the TA's target again (a good TA should pick out a new target slightly before the current target is dead).
    4) Rinse and repeat
    5) ????
    6) Profit

I looooooove being the guy that picks the new target, since I can do it @ range. Especially after a RoT pull on a group o'trash. When the first one is down to 25%, pew pew #2, and have it in the Champ Pack right when #1 faceplants.

    Re: Hunter wipe

I know the issue on players shooting the Leaders target when they are tabbing through and you lose track of when to stay on target. You will be shooting a guy and your lead will call, ALL ON MY TARGET and you guys swear you are but your not.

I tab through targets to find the right one.

When this happens it may be helpful to have the leader say that he/she has a new target go on my target please. Helps a little bit and controls the confusion a little more.

Gracious me! Who said Hunter class is easy?
Thanks for that new info on target assist and target forwarding.
Ive noticed that as Im doing two endgame SOA groups/raids per week, the cost is pretty huge on fire/light oils and hope tokens. Getting the" Bow of the Righteous" today. I feel Ive earned it !

One of the benefits of having a legendary weapon is being able to alter the damage type for each weapon. This means less of a dependance (sp?) on oils. Midnight Raid has a Beleriand Scroll, and you can find other scrolls at the Dolvenview Instances. When you progress to Lothorien and Mirkwood, there are plenty of other scrolls that effect both damage type and specific mob damage (i.e. orc, spider, dead, unseen etc)

Gratz on getting BotR, hopefully you will find it useful!
