When I first started playing I was absolutely awestruck by the beauty of the elven starter area. I still love the area and am struck by its beauty every time I go there.

Among my favorite more specific moments was finding Tom, Bill and Bert in the Lonelands. It was long after that I found the quest that takes you to them, but coming across them unexpectedly as a relatively new player was wonderful.

In terms of grouping, downing the Lieutenant after months of working the raid was quite a rush and one of the highlights of my lotro experiences.

Finally, maybe this doesn't really count but, re-reading the books and finding all the references to Mirkwood and finding references to places and thinking, "I've been there!" The game gave new meaning to things I had never really noticed before in the books.
