I totally agree, it is so nice to see Europeans mentioned. It is now 16:26pm and I cannot log in due to down time :-( . As a disabled man I use the game to zone out the pain please get the game back up sooooooon! :-(

If you have the Happy Cloud version then Happy Cloud will be running in your system tray. I think Happy Cloud comes from the Play Now link. I had to use this for both DDO and LOTRO as the old patcher was just waaaay too slow.

Is that really the full released patch notes or is there actually more? Looks like there was a lot of files updated or changed with the
download/install of this patch is the reason I am asking.

Update: Never mind I was seeing the Patch notes for 12.0.1 dated from Nov 22 2013, Thought it said patch 12.1

The LOTRO Game Servers will be brought down on Monday, December 16th from 6:00 - 10:00 AM Eastern (-5 GMT) for an update to the game. Thanks for your patience, and we'll see you back in the game soon! *****Patch notes will be available during the downtime******
Yes, they are always made available during the downtime. Not at the start, not at a specified time, but at some point during the downtime. Otherwise that line might read something like, "Patch notes will be available at the start of the downtime" or "Patch notes will be available at 8:30AM".

    They're now up.

Also, there are a number of additions (bullroarer had 0 Hunter notes for example), and a couple of removals that failed during QA and will be moved to a later update So yes, they are different from the Bullroarer notes. We also addressed far more small items that didn't get a line item mention. I believe we listed these at 500 on Bullroarer and they are now well over 600.

We didn’t think it would be terribly interesting reading a full and complete list of every typo, graphical adjustment, physics adjustment, localization change, and assorted effect tweaks made since Helm’s Deep launched.
I don't think I exaggerate when I say that I would actually find that incredibly interesting.

Release notes just mention that there are no seals anymore at Haudh Valandil and Sammath Gul. You guys forgot Thadur, which also gave seals?

Did not see this mentioned in patch notes for Champion, but did you guys look into why Blade Wall deed in Tier 1 class deeds wont advance no matter how many times you hit with it? I have been stuck on 411/750 ever since Helm's Deep release. Would like it fixed, could use the spec point.

Not a champion, but I seem to remember something in Globallff saying one champ deed was bugged and only advanced when using 2H/DW (can't remember which).

Not sure boasting that over 600 bugs were found within the paid launch of Helm's Deep is the best idea

Any rough number on how many bugs were fixed during Beta before launch?

    1000s?

It is good for them to tell us things like that so we know they are bettering the game constantly. As for beta... the number of bug fixes, adjustments, changes and tweaks were well into the thousands since each build was constantly changing each class, quests, battles, gear, combat systems, etc....
Is there any criteria on what is considered acceptable number of changes after a game goes live?

Do they even set goals for these kind of things?

You would think the idea is to fix all these hundreds upon hundreds of necessary changes PRE launch

    In an ideal world: yes.
In the real world: no way

There is no game, no software package that has been released bug free.

Things escalated and now my alarm is broken and I am awake. . .

They fix as many as they can pre launch. There are priorities given to every issue, change, tweak, etc... There simply is never enough time or resources to fix everything. There is no such thing as a game that goes live that doesn't have thousands of bugs in it when it goes live. They work to make those bugs as minimally visible as possible by focusing on the major items first. It is not possible to have a perfect product.

Anyone who has worked in software development knows that there are things called bug boards that meet at least once a week where all new issues discovered are brought up, classified, prioritized, etc.. They also talk about the issues that they think have been fixed and assign them to people to double check. They set the goals on what needs to be fixed first and what becomes 'acceptable' to have to release with and will hopefully get worked on again in one of the next patches/updates/etc..

That may be, but given how small some of the bugs are, chances are describing them in patch notes takes as long time as fixing the bug itself. Also, I don't really see how you'd describe these bugs without taking up Developer time, which to me seems like a really bad idea.

OK guys, I need help here. My game was working fine. Then this patch happened today and now I can't get in at all. The message I get is "Failed to read authentication response [err: unexpected end of file][line 1][col 1]

    Help would be most appreciated

If I recall right this error happens when the patch servers aren't up.
