Right, that's what I was referring to, hence "folks" plural. Many people on a server know that name, it has a reputation, people are contacted by virtue of it and have reputations associated with it. If you want to rename yours to include former server name, feel free, but such shouldn't be mandatory/automatic.

Exactly. The plans have been set in motion, and any deviations will mean delay, re-coding, re-testing, etc.
- Naming disputes will be as planned and not changed, both for characters and kinships. Yes, you can lose your name. Yes, it sucks. No, there isn't anything you can do about it.
- No 6th server will be allowed to remain, no matter how much you are pleading that Snowbourn and Meneldor deserve to stay.
- No, the remaining 10 servers will not be renamed because some think it is "unfair" that they get to keep their name.
At the end of the day, this is just a game. Play, or don't play. Those are the choices you have. You can be disgruntled and unhappy, but that isn't going to change anything so you may as well go with the flow and find your happy self again to play the game.... or just quit playing altogether if you can't find your happy self again.
Meanwhile, I am planning to snooze in the sun in the shire on Arkenstone, no matter what my name will be.

So being proactive as suggested by Frelorn as a group our kin had given ourselves a transfer date .... given it said that starting August 3rd they were going to slowly enable it ... we had agreed on a date for this past Wednesday, clearly we were a little too optimistic of Turbine's ability to move this along sooner than later, our bad, honestly we should have known better. lol, however still no transfer option. Is there a more likely date range we should aim for? It's starting to throw off people. Really hoping for a slightly more detailed time frame, not that i don't understand the difficulty. The Kin wants to transfer as soon as possible, we don't want to pick a date in October and have it open tomorrow and have all kinds of miss communication. I do hope I can get some kind of response that isn't some snarky comment, than again i can just make the 30 min drive to Turbine HQ and ask this in person. I wonder if they would even talk to me???? lol. here's to hoping sooner than later![]()

Well, at the moment testing is still going on, so I guess we'll just have to wait until the bugs on Bullroarer have been fixed before anything goes live. I'd rather have a bug free transfer than loosing characters/items/etc.

Well if I understand the time frame right it should go like this:
Right now: Transfer testing on the test server/s
Next: Free transfers between the 10 remaining worlds up to Oct 1st. Which it has already been stated that date can be pushed back if needed.
Then (some time after Oct 1st) The closing servers get to move based on the listed order. I believe it was said two at a time. But I do not remember anything about how fast the open other servers.
I think that is it as of right now. If I have missed something I am sure it will be pointed out. :-)
Thank you for your reply.
Is it possible for bound items in kinhouses or private houses state who the bound items are bound to? So before the transfer we can make a note. I remember moving from one deluxe house to another and items in there were bound to different alts. It was a pain. I hate to imagine with a house and kinhouse how much of a pain this will be to organise when the time comes.
Please advise, thank you.![]()
I'd explain it to you, but I'm all out of Puppets and Crayons.

I am glad you guys are set to move as soon as possible, but I would recommend a date in September or OctoberWe found some issues in testing on Bullroarer that we would like to resole before launching on Live. We are finishing up that new build now and hope to have it and the first phase of Live transfers started soon. There will be mails sent out in game as soon as transfer is open for each server and we will also be posting here on the forums and in emails as soon as we have dates, but typically notice will only be a couple days in advance at most as we are walking the balance of getting this out as soon as possible while also trying to make it as error free as possible.
Thank you for keeping us up to date, Athena
Just one question about the timetable that I got from german players when posting the new information onto our webseite about the transfers. Is there already a decision about keeping the transfers between remaining worlds open longer than October 1st? Players are asking because they are not sure which server to transfer on and they like the option of having a free transfer to another remaining server if needed.
Maybe you can give us a short note about that, thanks in advance![]()

Thank you very much for the update. While it's never good to find problems, it's much better to find them as early as possible, where they impact the least number of people. I am looking forward to the start of transfers/testing between the Surviving 5 servers in each zone (NA & EU) and intend to give it some robust testing when it becomes available.
I am interested (as the prior poster) in the duration of the free Surviving 5-to-Surviving 5 transfers, as one of my 'main servers' is Meneldor, which is listed to be the last server to become open for outbound transfers. While I am confident that the pace of server releases will pick up as the system is proven and the rate of moves becomes known and can be forecast (what % move on Day 1 must be a concern), the Last Server(s) will always have some concerns...

Be well and good questing, all! See you about Middle Earth another time!
Thank you for the update! I basically informed my kin already that I will be "pulling the trigger" on the first or second day of allowed migrations. I am on Riddermark, so I hope I will get to move soon. I'm ready. My kin is ready. Now we just have to wait till you are ready....

It is likely that this will be pushed out, but by how much I cant say yet. It all depends on how soon we can get all systems going. We dont want to encourage a bunch of hopping about, but we do want to give at least a solid 30 day window to shuffle from one surviving world to another for free.
Some of us would like to see how things are going to go on our soon to be inundated home servers before making the choice to jump ship to anther server. For me personally, a week or two isn't even going to come close to letting me 'see the future health of my home server' so to speak. Was there a particular reason you aren't keeping the transfers open longer then October 1? This is an incredibly short window, especially for EU servers with the last large server (Snowy) to transfer off their world, and in my opinion, that last larger server transfer might break my reason to stay on my surviving home server. I would much rather see a target date of someplace in November for free transfers so we can see what the transfers bring to the overall health of the servers and give those that choose to leave the server after seeing a good month of after transfer activity to determine whether to stay or go.

When your kinship has to be transferred from a sunset world to a new world all historical achievements will be transferred also, but you will be missing a lot of your items in your old kin house you had from previous raids. These items (some rare like Unwelcome mat or Dragon fireplace), who are currently in/around your kinhouse are bound to 1 character and will be sent back to that character but many players have left the game and thereby the items will no longer be available in you new world kinhouse.
It would be a great solution to add something like a kinhouse storage specifically for these items but I am afraid this is too late to add this to the ongoing transfers and thus will many kinships lose many rare items of old raidsessions.
While the loss of these items are of no influence to the game itself it is a loss of old history and thereby a loss of a piece of lotro.
The end is here, the ring is gone. I could not help it . . .
This is what saddens me the most, I recently packed up our kinhouse and retuned all the bound item to the original owners...bye bye Nanu's hiding place, unwelcome mat, memorial of the gaunt lords, heads of the globsnaga elders and many others. I retain some hope that some items will be returned once we transfer but many have left the game.
Anyway's I'm not too upset about it but it would be nice if Nanu's hiding place dropped a tad more often along with other rare raid items.

Feeling really better, at least not losing things, as Kinship Rank and many others, but, hey, dont lose my unwelcome mat![]()
Will it work the same way with tribes and their houses at Mount Grams?
So with the housing do you have to re-buy your house when you move over? and then once bought you get your escrow storage stuff and re do your house right.....its not just going to magiaclly appear over there already bought and furnished correct.
Also i heard there is a option to 'move account' so if you do that does that move everything from that server? like from E to Ark or does it move every toon you have on every server because i have a reaver on Brandy and a Reaver on E and i have 2 toons with the same name one on Brandy one on E, so im just checking if i need to delete these defore hand..... or 'move account' is just that particular server you logged on to and only that server.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I believe that you get the money for the house in the old server back and sent to you by in game mail. You then have to buy a new house yourself in your new server. All your deco and house chest stuff will be in escrow and you have to redecorate.
I too am confused about the move account option. I think it means that you can take all your account bound stuff like marks and destiny points and MC from just the server you are transfering to the new server. I don't know if it means that it transfers all account items from all you servers you are on to the new server. Perhaps someone out there can clarify this for us?
A few pointers:
1) When you move a house OR kinship house, you will be refunded the purchase price, all items inside the house(s) will go in escrow and can be picked up at the vault on the new server. You will also get your purchased storage slots, and any maintenance you have paid will be applied to a new purchase.
2) Please note: If you are a kinship leader and you have both a personal and a kinship house, all items will be jumbled together in the same escrow box. If you want to keep them separate, you should un-decorate one of your houses, and offload all items in to a mule-alt or an alt with plenty of vault and bag space.
3) "Account" move option will move anything that is shared between characters on one server, such as marks, medallions, mithril coins, stars of merit, destiny points etc. It will also move the contents of your shared storage and wardrobe. Any previous purchases that were account wide already, such as shared storage, character slots, wardrobe slots, but also account wide horse purchases and such, do not need to be moved, because they apply system-wide, on all servers already.
