Bullroarer Took Day Pub Crawl March 20th

It’s time once again for the Bullroarer Took Day Pub Crawl, coming back to Crickhollow on Sunday, March 20th following Elevenses.

We’re going to hit every pub in the Shire and stop to have a pint, some tunes, and a little competition at each location. Join us for a costume contest, brew-a-thon, trivia challenge, scavenger hunt, and plenty of music for everyone to enjoy. It all kicks off at 12pm EST (server) at the Bird & Baby in Michel Delving after our weekly Elevenses event (every Sunday at 11am). We’ll rush over to Hobbiton’s Ivy Bush for a cosmetic contest run by Gwinlynn. Contestants should put together their best Bullroarer Took Day (okay, St. Patrick's Day) inspired ensemble. The winner will be chosen by a panel of celebrity fashion bloggers and music will be provided throughout by Breakfast Club.

Next we’ll amble over to Brockenborings for a brew-a-thon at the Plough and Stars. Cooks are invited to prepare their finest brew and food pairing for a panel of judges. Contestants decide whether to come prepared or use the crafting facilities along the way. Coming up with a good pairing is key, but the best way to sway the judges is with a flashy presentation.

The crawl’s next stop is at the Golden Perch in Stock where the pub trivia master will be crowned. Questions will be based on Tolkien and LOTRO lore. Next we will drag ourselves down to the Floating Log in Frogmorton for a scavenger hunt. Make sure to come prepared with a fishing pole and some bag space. Survivors will then drag themselves down to the Green Dragon in Hobbiton, where we’ll celebrate the completion of our pub crawl with music and dancing.

Please note that the clocks go forward in America on 13th March but don't go forward in Europe until 27th March so this event starts at 4pm GMT.

It's funny, that just occurred to me this morning. I actually did not forget about the gap between US and European daylight savings times, but rather failed to remember that DST was coming at all! I fixed the poster and was all ready to switch it out with nobody the wiser--unfortunately I got here just two hours late (which would leave me better off than those who follow the original instructions from the poster). Thank you for setting the people straight and foiling my clever scheme, Time Lord!

Just a few reminders about Sunday's pub crawl:

1. We're starting at 12pm EDT, which is -4 GMT. If your time zone hasn't adjusted to daylight savings time please double check the time difference.
2. St. Patrick's Day is the theme for the cosmetic contest. Our extra special guest judges will be Gloredh from Wandering Around Arda and Nathrien from Material Middle-earth, two of the top LOTRO fashion bloggers. Make sure to dress to impress!
3. Feel free to come with a dish and a drink made by another character if you won't be bringing your cook to the pub crawl. We will also be offering the services of a farmer to cooks who cannot produce their own materials. You'll want to prepare 3 main dishes and 3 drinks to present to our judging panel. The presentation itself will be the most important part of the brew-a-thon, so come up with a good blurb about your food.
4. If you'd like to save time on the scavenger hunt, make sure to have some empty slots and a fishing rod in your bag.
5. We'll be using our regular custom event channel throughout because traveling around can make communication difficult. Just type /joinchannel event
6. Don't forget about Elevenses! Elevenses is a music and light RP gathering held every Sunday at 11am (and every Monday at 11pm) inside the Bird & Baby in Michel Delving. We'll be cutting it short this Sunday, but we hope you'll show up early to take part in Crickhollow's oldest tradition (and keep coming back week after week).
