Legacy of Durin - Post-Epilogue Letter Not Found in Mail

Gundabad has been an excellent expansion; far better than the last two, specifically Mordor and Minas Morgul! I enjoyed the quest design, the epic, and everything in between! It was only by doing some housing research that I ran into my first "negative" with the game in the form of a bug.

According to both "LOTRO-Wiki" and "Deco Du Milieu and Co," when one completes the Epilogue of the Legacy of Durin (and all previous books), he/she receives a letter in the mail from Durin that contains the attachment "Mosaic - Durin and Motsog" housing item. This mail is prompted upon completion of the associated deed which requires completing ALL Books in the Legacy of Durin. Unfortunately, both my friend and I completed the whole epic 2-3 weeks ago, and we NEVER received this letter from Durin, and therefore, we never received the housing item. I already submitted a bug report and made a request to have this housing item added to my inventory. But I am curious to know if this issue has happened to anybody else in the game? And how long would it take for support to rectify this situation?

Finished this yesterday and received all the quest rewards including statue etc but never received the mail with the wall art afterwards.

I'd be curious to see if you have completed a deed called 'Musings and Thanks,' which is listening for the completed 'The Legacy of Durin and the Trials of the Dwarves' deed. The mail is set up to send when 'Musings and Thanks' is completed.

I do not see Musings and Thanks in my log.
It is neither in progress or completed.

It would be on the Class/Race/Epic tab of the deed log (and on the Epic page), so right in the same place as 'The Legacy of Durin and the Trials of the Dwarves' deed. This might be kind of obvious, but I'd double-check that you've also completed Chapters 1-4 of LoD, which isn't technically required anymore (since Chapter 5 became an on-ramp for Gundabad), but *is* required for 'Musings and Thanks.'

EDIT: Since you do have Musings and Thanks completed, I would have expected the mail to send properly -- maybe cruise by a physical mailbox and see if that helps jog its memory. And the deed itself shouldn't have a reward listed - it's only there to invisibly send the mail message.

Had and have again checked mailbox at my house and the kin house, nada.
Additionally, taken the step to remove all mail, just in case.

Several of my characters at different times had difficulties with receiving quest letters by game mail, and almost always it was due to the waiting timer for the letter after the Yule quest "A Final Act" (about a month). After that, some of these characters received all the letters at once, and this happened for several years, so now I don't even touch this quest with those characters who have already completed it. Has your character taken the quest "A Final Act" this year?

Mine had taken and already completed it before I finished the deeds for the reward.

I completed the entire storyline which was great and loved it! didn't know about any extra rewards until about a week or so after completing the quest i logged in and got mail from Durin, so i wonder if might arrive later then immediately?

Aye it was fantastic.
In my case it has been less than 24 hours still, so if there is a timer that could indeed be my issue, not sure on others.

As far as I understand, it is not the quest "A Final Act" itself that is important, but the fact that it is associated with the timer of the quest letter "Letter from Daley Utteridge" (it doesn't even seem to matter which side you chose). If this timer is running, no quest mails will arrive until it expires. All my characters with whom this happened got this problem after the Yule Festival and never at any other time.
But it's possible that you really just need to wait a bit.

That's interesting. How does interacting with a 'physical' mailbox differ from the VIP mailbox access?

Well, you got me wonderin'...did I get the Mosaic? ...and all that other stuff?

I checked Deeds, Quests, all the stuff and it looked like I had completed all the needed requirements.
Why don't I have the Mosaic?

Long-story, short...

I did have it. It doesn't look like much as an icon.
It was in my shared storage vault. I'd forgotten that I had stashed it.

It's up on my wall now.

I checked my main, Gamlieldar, to see if "Musings and Thanks" was completed. It is indeed completed. I still have not received any mail from Durin from previous weeks, under full understanding that his letter was never deleted intentionally on my part. My latest attempt involved clearing out my mailbox to see if the mail would show up after cleaning up and relogging. Nothing, even after visiting a physical mailbox location. :-( I even checked the possibility of this item landing in housing escrow, nothing.

Hopefully my Customer Support ticket gets escalated.

I have heard this bug is quite common. Lots of the people i play with have the same issue. Some have no characters get it. others only one of them.

Bumping and Quoting this Post. I'm glad to know this is not just an issue with my character and one of my friend's characters. But considering this is my main (and the friend's character is her main as well), it's disappointing that this universal issue is happening on our first toons.

Completed last Sunday (so, 3 days ago).
I cannot remember if I did that Yule tide festival quest mentioned earlier.
It would be nice to know if the email trigger sends the email "instantly" or is there a delay?

I have this exact problem, with two of my characters!

My three friends all received this mail on their two characters, but I did not.
I completed the entire questline of LoD.

So I just finished it on my third character, same issue!
Starting to think there is some exception for characters whose name starts with 'Ness'

Just today, I received letters from Daley Utteridge and Durin (that had the mosaic attached).
So my issue was doing that Yule Tide festival quest.
I will have to remember to skip that one from now on!

It seems to me that it was my problem as well! I just received my Mosaic in the mail today, and my friend, who did the Yule Festival quests probably earlier than I did, received hers yesterday. It definitely has something to do with the Daley Utteridge quest when you're assisting the poor. I think the devs may have coded the mail to be delayed with other NPC mail. Maybe some sort of variable that locks all NPC mail from coming through until the period of time after you complete the "Assisting The Poor" questline in Yule.

Well, problem solved! But a forewarning to all until the Devs resolve this issue! :-)
