What am I expecting now, based on what has been found recently on the borders of the Shire?
Yondershire for the anniversary!
- Taravan, R12 Captain - Tirian, Tanking Guardian - Telperon, Completionist LM -
- Afranius, R9 WL - Tolobain, R7 Weaver - Vargan, R6 Stalker -
Ex-Leader of Lost Realm of Imladris - Evernight - Co-Founder of Beauty and the Beasts
I could make a wish list but mostly I hope that the 10th anniversary meta will be changed to be finish able for solo. Especially the raid and some of the instance requirements are impossible in such a short time. And then that festival metas never again depend on fellowship content.
Maybe a donkey mount so hobbits have their own special mounts as well.
I am personally hoping that they release some Hobbit content. I would love it to be the Southfarthing at around a level to compete with Rohan because having to use those rubbish horses in order to be able to complete much of the content is annoying and some nice Drama in the Shire would make a lovely change... things like the dramatic search for the missing piesor the mystery of who has the best pipeweed blend

Perhaps I'm being too optimistic, but looking at what's going on for this year's anniversary event for DDO, it seems quite a bit of effort is being put in there. This gives me hope for LOTRO's event this year.

You have to do several raids to "emote" to the bosses, all one quest. If this is not done during the festival, you lose all progress. It is part of the meta meta for all 10-year quests. I believe 3 metas and then the big one. So basically not doing the raid quest hinders you from getting 2 metas.
Tales, travels, trifles 3 metas giving you a 4th. Year 7 trifles requires lots of raids to "emote". Year 3 Trifles requires instances.

I expect them to slow the servers further and remove customer support completely.
So, I have just received an email from the producer of DDO and it seems that they are planning a doozy of a 16th anniversary over there.
Amongst other things they stated that they are giving away many of the races and classes as free from the ANNI onwards. Now SSG stated some time back that they intended to make the Lotro wallet free to all and make the gold cap free also.
I feel that all who have the wallet already should be compensated with a large carry-all of choice because the DDO guys are being compensated if they had purchased the classes and races that they are now making free in the ANNI event.
****PLEASE**** for the love of all that is holy within this game..... PLEASE NO MORE FIREWORKS.... it is cheesy now and any more would frankly be very predictable and boring.!!

To celebrate an anniversary - it would be nice if something was done to benefit people that have actually been here for all or most of the 15 years.
Not giving things away that almost all long-term players already have or giving more to free players to close the gap between them and subscribers.
I certainly have no objection to those things if long-termers and subscribers also benefit at least as much from any largesse.
((grumbles some more about subscribers on the largest subscriber-only server not getting one single thing for the last VIP recognition weekend - not even the small crafting bonus that used to be given))
For me, I would love to have a permanent black dye for being here 15 years. That was a long term gift in Ultima Online, it was dope.

All kidding aside, I think you'll enjoy the anniversary this year.

We shall see. As some have stated, the 10 year gift was rather disappointing... this is the next big milestone for those who have been with the game longer than the production team! 15 years is absolutely worth a true reward for the commitment. Here's to hoping the comment is valid for those who've been here since the beginning!

15 years is exiting and I just hope that you will consider ALL players this time and not add content like in year 10 which is impossible for some of us. I managed to get these instances done the first year but never on another character. It's like a slap in the face to tell some of us that we can't get these metas finished, maybe even laugh. Anyways, that's how I felt when I saw these instance requirements. Hahaha, we know you don't like it and will have a bad experience.
I think these quests would be better if avaiable year-round. The festival itself is just too short for even one of them.

Bruh what are you talking about? players who have played for 15 years get a brand new gift and frame that literally no one else but them will have for at least a year.<
Words fail to express my lack of interest in yet another frame or set of fireworks.
In the context (scroll up) of discussion of free races or classes I was hoping for something that would actually be useful to those that have been buying expansions since Moria and have the races and classes.
I don't mind what it is as long as they keep it out of the collection panel. Adding stuff that players can't get their hands on for up to 14 years just kills collections. If they are going to give a steed, emote or pet, give it to everyone, and put something really good in the long term 15 years barrel instead that doesn't affect collections, or deeds.
Just imagine this.
New player sees my red orb emote . . . .
"that's cool, how do you do that?"
"its an emote."
"what's an emote?"
"Check out your collections panel and you will see them all there."
"I just looked and those are so cool, I'm going to collect them all, even the ones in the store."
"Good for you mate."
"Wait! What? I can't get that one that I saw you doing for . . . 9 YEARS! and there are other things that I can't get for . . . 12 YEARS!"
"Yup."
"Hmmm, not going to bother then."

Sometimes, no matter how hard you look, there is no best light.
I expect catching up on year 12-15 quests/deeds at party tree...
Expectations - none tbh.
Suggestions - concerning 10th Anniversary quests - yes, an edit would be welcome when it comes to the raid ones. Maybe making those an "extra", not compulsory? It was great fun running them 5 years ago as there was always someone willing to help you but it may be difficult nowadays.
Wishful thinking - for the 15th Anniversary I'd love to see a temporary drop bonanza. The items we get right now are always the same: generic task items, a pot or two etc. You can kill 500 mobs for the slayer deed and safely Sell All without even checking your loot. A chance to get something nice - a premium item if one is very lucky, a pet, a mount, cosmetics, maybe a joke/special anniversary item. Maybe not the endgame content to discourage raid farming.
The current loot table is so boring that I got excited lately just by getting a map to some obscure place in Evendim, been so long since something different dropped.
