    More Log In Problems?

All I can say Turbine is "what the heck." This morning trying to log in to the game I get a message that I am in a log in queue. Then after about 30 seconds I get an error message. This is getting ridiculous. I am not sure how much more I am going to take before I cancel my long-standing subscription. We need answers to these severe issues.

I just want to play :( Another error preventing me from logging in...

I am able to log in to the launch screen, then it brings up the game, and shows the screen with the following text:

    Connecting to Authentication server...
    Searching for Logon server...
    Logging in. Please wait...

    Success!
Annnnd then after nothing happening for 30-60 seconds, this error message pops up:
General error accessing your account information. Try again and contact tech support if the problem persists.
    Quit

I've tried several times with no success... Anyone else have this issue?

    **EDIT**
Now I'm not even getting to that point. I get to the last part of the launcher, where it says Getting in line to connect. After waiting at that screen for 20 seconds, this message pops up: "failed to queue for server (0x80004005)"

Same here! I have tried twice. Once I can't get past the launcher (stuck in login in que with an error popping up) then I relaunched and got to the first loading screen, got the message "Connection Made", or whatever it is, and then got another error but the launched shut down before I could copy the message.

Same here -- logged in a few hours ago just fine, but had to log off. Tried to log in now several times and get the "Getting in line ..." message, then about 30 seconds later a failure message.

Helllooooooooo Turbine-- please feed the hamsters and get this resolved!

    Try flushing your dns cache.
In your Windows Search box type: CMD
On the screen that pops up type: IPCONFIG/FLUSHDNS

Yes, Turbine needs to address whatever is causing this but this command will allow you to login to the game.

I got right in on the first try. So not everyone is having this issue. What do you all have in common?

Except the issues are unrelated to the new launcher. it's entirely a front end system unrelated to the backend, which is what's causing the issues.

Again, sequential events do not always denote a causal relationship.

We're looking into it and will update as we have more information.

yes thats true. Like the first mistake in an exam is not responsible for the next 99. But what could they all do have common...?

True, sequential events often denote a cascade. So the question is: What has caused the cascade of login issues that have plagued LOTRO since Update 11? Hmm.

The issues have actually been happening for longer than that, though frequency has increased in the past week or so. Tracking down the root cause continues to be challenging.

To my point aout sequential events, DDO does not have LOTRO's launcher, yet has been experiencing the same issues. It's unrelated to the new launcher.

The new launcher still sucks. That's what people are saying, whether you read between the lines or not..

On topic I had to uninstall Lotro and reinstall like two days ago. It fixed my problem and it's quite a bit faster and smoother.
What is it? What do you smell?

If that resolved your issue then the issue was very likely one of corrupted files. In which case, yes a reinstall is the only solution.

Thank you for acknowledging this is an on-going problem. Please try and keep us apprised of any information you can share. Connectivity issues are highly frustrating to deal with as an end-user, and find and fix as a provider. Knowing that its not completely resolved at least helps us understand that it may happen again in the near future, and that you're working on getting a solid fix in place.

Seconded. As someone who has a very unreliable connection, I can appreciate (better than most) that finding the one or several causes of problems in a system where you can have a combinatorial explosion of causes with one final pathway makes diagnosis a guessing game that often goes wrong. Stuff happens, yes it does, no matter how good your QA system is, you'll never catch everything possible ahead of time.

Has this mess caused an issue with the Plugins or Plugin Manager?
