I want to see some smart-aleck answers.

The "EN" means "English." The "RE" means, I believe, "role-playing encouraged."

English - Role Play encouraged. Unlike the EN-RP designation, which has a rule set that the GMs enforce, Landroval has a large community that supports RP on that server but it is not an official Role Play server and GMs do not enforce our RP policies.

    That's not a very smart-alecky answer.

So now I'm curious. Is there an official posting of Turbine's official RP-designated server policies?

Well, being from Landroval, I can tell you what Turbine DOES for roleplaying on Landroval : nothing. Absolutely not a thing.

You can report someone called CTR-ALT-DEL and Turbine does nothing.
You can report someone called FunSpoiler stand in the Prancing Pony while making fun of RPers and Turbine does nothing. Even when that person then brags in global chat about it, nothing).

So, if you want to roleplay, don't expect them to do anything to ''encourage'' you.

The only thing they ever do, to my knowledge, is Weatherstock, where a GM sometimes asks people to remove thier shield and such. That's once a year. Probably just because, if they don't do anything when 200 people meet, the server crashes.
I charge $20.00 for signatures. Mail me if you want one ! Hobbitses pay double !!!

Well, now I was asking about the policies for the RP servers, not the RE server.

That's why I left Landroval and its endless host of spies on secret missions for Saruman.

I don't have any idea what that is.

Careful, naming names in threads is against the rules on the forums.

    Just saying.

Editing to add: I'm not a fan of one of the names you mentioned either, but as a person with some silly infractions on his account I thought you should know.

Weatherstock is awesome. It's basically a Middle Earth Woodstock on Weathertop. If I didn't play on Landroval I'd make a character just to go to Weatherstock once a year.

Because it doesn't violate any rules.

On the other hand, people DO report others for names that seem to close to names in the books and they WILL be forced to change their names, even if similar to obscure names from the books. Good luck coming up with a name that fits the lore that can't be bannable.

People should just stop worrying about names so much.

    TRUTH.

If you're REALLY into RP then why even have names turned on? You should be asking people their names and not reading these big magical letters hovering over everyone(thing)s name.

    heh

Old thread, but this guy has been going nuts in the last month or so going out of his way to get banned and nothing happens; explicit content, disrupting planned events, and other clear and obvious violations of CoC. Report after report with no action taken. Players are leaving the game over this guy! Rumors are that he has multiple accounts and just cycles through them when one has a temporary ban. Those who complain to GMs or their superiors are told to stop complaining. I do not like to mention actual players names anywhere but this is getting ridiculous and I'm going to lose game friends over it.

I don't like "enforced RP" rules but in this case I'll make an exception.

Maybe that happens on Landroval, but it sure doesn't happen much on Elendilmir.
