A coworker passed from complications arising from his battle with ALS. He is greatly missed.

Not a bad Idea. An Emote bought from the store for a few ($2.00 ~ 4.00) and all money goes to the charity. Something at a small cost multiplied by the player base could turn out to be a good amount.

I thought so too. But someone told me that after the ruckus caused by the One Fund cloak that it's not likely to happen. People would be upset about "real life invading their game." *shrugs* Oh well. Would have been amusing.

My teenage son recently took the ice bucket challenge, and it was both funny and touching to hear him talk about what it meant to him. Now it's going the rounds of his friends and relatives, and continues to raise money in areas that wouldn't have been reached otherwise.

Actually, the method used for the One Fund would be the better way to go. It doesn't matter to me that "RL creep" is Lore breaking - I play an RK. Besides, there are occasions where 'barrels' are in the books.

Due to the fact that I honestly fear my not-so-robust-anymore heart would stop at that kind of shock, I can't do the challenge in rl... but I would absolutely subject my characters to it in the game. This is a great idea. (and ignore any whining about rl "invading" Middle Earth... World chat is much more intrusive than any "you don't have to buy it if you don't want to" emote could ever be.)

Take no notice of anyone complaining about Lore breaking. It's for a good cause - get over it. I think turbine should just go ahead and sell the emote. Or take it even further and sell a steed for it (have it carry two small bladders of cool water, have a nice sea blue comparison (not table cloth) and call him Steed of the Anduin)

We already have the animation in which our characters use a bucket of water to water plants or put out fire. Would be nice if Turbine add this as an emote too.
