    New Expansion redeem code gift

    Hi!
I would like to buy the new expansion and send a redeem code to my friend (as a gift).
    How can I do it?

I'd like to know that as well.

And what about the Minas Morgul expansion? Does it auto-apply too? If it does please fix that, it's very inconvenient.

Lotro Market divided in 2 category now: Old expansions and new expansions. Looks like all old expansions keep all old methods for purchase.

    You can't.
As far as I can tell there are no redeem codes associated with the new expansion.

The new LOTRO Market does not currently allow gifting, although that is something we intend to introduce in the future.

You could give him a gift card (like visa, or whatever other payments they accept) for $20 or whichever level you want to gift.

I look forward to seeing this feature return (hopefully in the near future).

I also want to expend money in your store for gifting expansions. What is the estimate release date for that? Do you have an estimation or that is only a wish?

And more important, is there a workaround, like calling support team, to give you my real world money for enabling some expansions on my friend's account?

Until this is implemented, a workaround would be to gift your friend Steam currency, then they can use that to buy LOTRO points to get the expansions. In order for this to work though, they have to have downloaded the game through Steam. If they haven’t done that then they can uninstall then reinstall using Steam.

That will not work if SSG releases a new expansion which will not be available for LP at start, and some accounts will keep getting unknown error "Purchase cannot be completed".
Come on SSG. Players need this - gifting a lotro market expansion - and it benefits you in every possible way. Do it, please!

    PS.
In my country, a gift card has somewhat limited use, I could pay for a purchase [s]a pizza[/s] off a real-life shop or internet site but I couldn't send the remaining money to my phone balance, probably Lotro falls in the same category of digital goods that a gift card does not cover? I don't really need it, just mentioning it as a solution which might not work.

I wonder if this no gifting has something to do with the pending transfer to the 4game platform?

I highly doubt it cause the idea to remove codes from the new lotro market and offer gifting option later has been around way longer then what EG7 had planned to do with 4game platform even before it was announced EG7 even bought daybreak we knew SSG at some point was going change the market and they did.

I would like to see Gifting back asap. Not just for expansions, but for things like a 90 day VIP, LOTRO Points (my granddaughter would love this, all the money would get spent on cosmetics and housing LOL), etc.

Just think of all the revenue you are losing
May the winds of fortune sail you,
May you sail a gentle sea.
May it always be the other guy

8 months ago I managed to gift 3 VIP months to my friend sending him a Product Key. I'm afraid I don't remember the process, it took some time to figure it out but I did it. One could think that they don't want player's money.

Now my friend has a 1-year VIP subscription without the expansions and cannot quest with me.

    Instead of the proposed workaround:
    1. Uninstall LOTRO
    2. Install Steam
    3. Download and install LOTRO from Steam (it takes hours to my friend)
    4. Buy Steam points (and figure out how many he needs)
    5. Gift the Steam points to my friend
    6. Buy LOTRO points with Steam points
    7. Buy the expansions with LOTRO points

    I prefer:
    1. Transfer money to my friend
    2. Buy the expansion in the shop

Even though VIP, all Expansions must be separately purchased.

Click on "LOTRO Market" in the upper menu line, at the top of the page, above and select one of the two options.

Expansion can be purchased with LP or cash through the menu above or the in game store.
