IIRC it's just a basic cloak, probably a yellow item. One of the random drops from any world mob.

Thank you. The comical over-sized effect of the hat is part of why I use it as well. I thought it was kind of charming. I'm happy someone noticed.

It's available on the skirmish vendor (cloaks and jewelry NPC, page 2) as the Esquire's Hooded Cloak of Naillan.

I believe it's also a tier 2 or 3 crafted cloak. I usually pick that for newbie chars until I find a cloak that matters.

I am just looking for things that fit into the adventures and bio of my character. Since my main is a guardian, he gets into a lot of trouble. So what I like to look for is things that fit. ATM, I have an eye-patch and the miners pack.

Is there cosmetic items such as spectacles/glasses?

My current main, Alberik of Dale. He's a champion and scholar who has devoted his life to unearthing the mysteries hidden in middle earth.

(Most of the armor he is wearing are level 23-ish white quality dropped elven steel pieces collected from monsters around the world. It is possible to recreate this look with level 35 bought armor from Rivendell).

I continually upgrade on the armor as I get a hold of new shiny pieces that are elven-looking. I plan on keeping this style of armor for him as long as possible.

That's the first time I've seen leggings that have the leaf motif scale armor! Where did those drop?

That's Elven Scale (steel?) armor. Buy it in Rivendell from the heavy armor seller.
Note: There are two types of elven scale (steel?) armor, make sure you get the correct one. Try before you buy

The first versions of the -dropped- elven steel armor is level 23, so basically, they can drop from any humanoids from level 23 to 35 (which is when the next version of dropped armor comes in).

It's entirely a matter of luck what you get though. I'm always careful to try on (dressing room) every single piece of dropped non-binding armor I find before vendoring it.

If you're desperate for wanting those though, there is a level 15 crafted version as well - Elven Iron leggings. It's white quality, but it does bind. However, the default color for those is black, but they can of course be re-dyed.

Thank you - It's one of the summer festival cloaks, re-dyed with Indigo. I used to have it dyed in Navy, but it didn't "pop" quite as much as it does now.

For those who have not been keeping up with all the beta threads, we will no longer see gray items such as these drop after the 8th. Turbine has removed them from the loot table. Personally I feel this takes a good chunk of fun out of the game as I too enjoy looking at all the dropped armor items before vendoring them. I've created a good number of outfits for my characters this way. But there you have it.

If what some players have said is true, all such items are available in game somewhere else. Its finding this somewhere else that's the challenge. Not only are there numerous styles of crafted armor, but there are countless vendors across the land, many in very out of the way locations, which carry armor. Getting a good look at each and every such piece when looking to make a cosmetic outfit is a challenge to say the least.

I know of one web site where the author has gone to a lot of effort to present and update the various gear graphics in game. (http://www.northshield.co.uk/LOTRO/O.../Outfitter.htm) But for the life of me I have a difficult time navigating through much of it. I can't seem to go from crafted gear to vendor gear to cosmetic gear, for example, whenever I want. But my own shortcomings aside, it's a great resource for those wishing to create their own outfits, even outfits for their skirmish soldiers, and it'll become even more beneficial come the 8th when Turbine removes our access to gray drop gear.

Just curious, does anyone still playing have one of the paper bags of shame head gear? Some time ago a paper bag with eye holes was given out by GMs along with a title for those with truly ugly outfits. I'd so love to have both the bag and the title. But I'll settle for the bag if its ever added to the Turbine store. It's just too funny.

Sorry, there isn't a direct connection. My mind works in mysterious ways, when it decides to work at all that is. *smiles*

When I saw your helm I started thinking about how it's one of the more interest/fun head gear items that Turbine's added to the game. I actually prefer the bunny mask myself, but most of my friends like the bucket helm the best. Anyway, that got me thinking about other fun "helms" that have made it into game. And that's when I remembered the paper bag. No slight intended towards your outfit. Honest.

I did a search of the Deeds, Traits, and Titles forum and couldn't find the old thread I last saw a pick of that bag in, though given how sluggish the forum is right now I'm not surprised. I also did a general Google search, but as I don't remember exactly what it was called I didn't have much luck there either. I'm sure there are pictures of it out there somewhere. Given how rare that item is and that it already exists in LOTRO's database I wonder if it'll make it into their store.

    EDIT:

A little more digging rewarded me with the title I was looking for. And that led me to the picture. My memory was a bit off. It wasn't exactly a paper bag with eye holes, but it was fairly close.

    Title: The Eye-sore
Your choices strongly suggest that you set out to insult the entire Tailoring profession and all those who hold it dear. If you’re trying to make a statement, you certainly have!

Thumbs up Re: Show us your favorite cosmetic outfit

BRAVO, people!! Have just finished all 62 (?) pages and am very impressed with what I've seen. My toons are all hiding in embarassment because of some of these outfits we've seen. Needless to say, something is going to have to happen where their dress-up outfits are concerned.

    Congrats, everyone....
If at first I don't succeed, I'll try and try again ........just let me rest first:)

I updated my outfit quite a bit over the last couple of days. I've always imagined Alberik as kind of a Knight's Errant, and wanted to go for that heavily armored knight look, but still with an elegance to it (thus choosing the elven style armors)

Elven Winged Helm (bought in Rivendell, dyed indigo)
    Summer festival cloak (dyed indigo)
Elven Soldier's Shoulders (crafted, dyed white)
Elven Steel Breastplate (dropped armor, dyed indigo)
Elven Soldier's Gloves (crafted, dyed indigo)
Elven Defender's Leggings (crafted, dyed indigo)
Elven Soldier's Boots (crafted, dyed violet (indigo is too strong for this look)
