Getting Turbine to do something?
Good luck.
The new LOTRO exec producer recently made a lag thread on Brandywine forums for people to register issues.
Let's hope it bears fruit:

Here's a screen from my adventures today. You can see the Corsairs on landscape in Central Gondor are looking for me, but can't find me, so they're bugged out because of server lag. Even on FLAT terrain!!!
You can see them trying to target me in the photo with the purple circle at my feet. It took them a good 20-30 seconds before they realized where I was. GG Turbine.
And yes, I had "Reduced Awareness"
P.S. It sucked so much, I logged off and went to another MMO where I never get lag.
LvL 100s: Beorning, Burglar, Captain, Champ, Guardian, Hunter, Lore-Master, Minstrel, Rune-Keeper
LvL 85: Warden, Minstrel
All my forum posts are my opinions and may not even be that. Also On Twitter: @leixicon
I think they should stop upgrading the graphics, everything pre Rohan does not lag for me everything rohan and after is a slideshow and awful. Today I was doing HD quests for the class trait points and it was unbearable
Korth - Parked At GV - Arkenstonned
Korn - Prime-Evil-1 -Arkenstonned
& Many Others on Crickhollow
Yes one reason I loathe BBs even in a great group is because I get nauseous from the flickering. I lose my fellows continually. NPCs zip invisably past me and I lose targeting even on banners! And this happens on bothLaurelin and Landroval, with no reduced awareness.
In instances and open Landscape, it improved for a while after the last maintenance hotfix. But OD was the same as HD last weekend. Now it's happening on Laurelin in the landscape in Dunland where I am alone.
I hope the new server/data centre updates improve it.
Toggling off the debuffs and buffs would help, too. They flicker constantly and must add to the graphics load.
And the minstrel sang to them……”and they passed in thought out to regions where pain and delight flow together and tears are the very wine of blessedness.”
I've been clamoring for lag fixes for over a year. Certainly we know the new producer is aware, she addressed it in a server specific thread on brandywine. Either they cant fix it, dont believe its a major issue or consider other things to be a priority.
All of which continue to make the game prohibitive for me anyway, I simply cant justify the time investment when its a lag fest. That on top of other issues make lotro a less and less attractive MMO daily.
One thing that worries is me is how the new "server consoidations" will affect matters. If we are getting more and more of these lag issues with the lower populations we have these days, what will happen when we start jamming more population into fewer servers? We didn't have so much lag back when we had higher populations, but we didn't have the more graphics demands of more recent upgrades. So how will more players on fewer servers as well as more graphics demand affect lag?
Are you being deliberately naive? Or are you trying to feign interest to try and link a totally seperate issue to further your own agenda concering your complaint about having to move to a server with an increased population, and people who may want to interact with you.
With the server consolidation comes new and better server equipment as explained by Vyvyanne. Players who see lag issues (of which i'm not one) should hopefully see some improvements.

You didnt address his point, regardless of his agenda its not an unfair point to make. We dont know if the upgrades are going to help or not, we do know that servers will be combined at some level. Both you and wof make logical conclusions, increased population would decrease performance, with the current system. An upgrade to systems should mitigate lower performance issues.
The key is timing then, if both hypothesis are correct. Which will happen first? The merges or the upgrades? We dont know, so until we do, he's got a valid argument. The fact he might angling the argument to bolster his non merger stance is a logical end, which, if we answer the question of timing, can be negated.
I can only address the point Wof made with the facts we have been given and that is we have been told new server hardware is on it's way. That it comes before or after one thing or another is neither here nor there. All we need to know is that improvements are being sought to remedy some of the issue people are seeing. Until such improvments happen its pointless getting in a mix.

Your second sentence is where your logic is flawed and is way to dismissive of the timing of both events. You are certainly entitled to your opinion but i simply cant see a positive scenario where mergers happen first, then systems are upgraded, given the performance issues we currently have.
Of course, I could be wrong. Its rare but it happens.

If anything is flawed, it is to continue to speculate about how any issues will arise until we are told facts. We know for a fact that Turbine are going to improve the server hardware, as to which comes first it is logical to assume the new hardware will be in place ready for the consolidations, otherwise Turbine are making extra leg work for themselves and probably at a fair cost. I am willing to eat my hat if i am wrong, wonder if Wof and Yourself would be.

I cant admit I am wrong because I have made no statements on this issue that are an absolute as to the action of turbine. I pointed out, accurately, that the timing of the events are critical to making a good assessment of the effectiveness of either.
I havent read all of wof's posts, frankly I find them redundant and tiresome but I dont believe he is making any predictions on the upgrade and mergers affect on lag. On the contrary he appears to be using this and other discussions to increase the breadth of his other positions on server mergers. I dont think its a bad strat, but its for MB points only, turbine isnt interested in a vocal minority, that we know absolutely.
Ban all Captains. Cappy lag is the worst thing ever.

Curious what the problem of this lag is since I read here for weeks complains and I didn't have any.

Yeh definitely.. Add tanks that like using all kinds of buffs like food, hope (sometimes needed), warding scrolls, and it makes a healer's life miserable (also.. playing as RK, you yourself contribute a lot to it as well..). And as healer you can't use target forwarding to get around the lag issues...
Wardens also seem to generate a lot of lag by putting 1.5 bars of bleeds on targets.
And it's funny that people blame LMs for lag so much, I lag on my RK more than on LM..

Freeps: Vulcwen (R8 LM), Vulciel (lvl 100 RK), and some lower level alts.. Creep: Shadowweb (R6 spider)

1) She isn't.
2) No predictions, a question about lag.
3) This is a seperate issue to server merges, because if Turbine doesn't want to know, then loads of players will leave. Simples! There is no point beating a dead horse if they aren't interested in listening.
4) Lotro is not the be all and end all of gaming, there are a lot of other games I can go to and a couple I have tried lately have proven to be better than Lotro has become. I'm already subbing to one of them instead of here anymore. I'm only playinbg as Premium here anymore.
Thats some wild speculation right there, where is your evidence for this? You often pass opinion across as fact I have noticed. Many times people have claimed something or other will drive away players but, - this is based on my own observations as having played since early access - If the class changes and lack of group content didn't kill the game then a few folks with lag issue wont either.
Yet again you are being deliberately naive, you say turbine "doesn't want to know". A quick look at the dev tacker will show you that Vyvyanne has addressed the lag issue not only on Bandywine but also across the game as something she has been looking into, combined with new hardware coming. They are hardly turning a blind eye.

If most of my kin say they will leave, they are unlikely to be the only ones. If they are upset enough to leave then the odds are it is highly unlikely that the only players who feel that way would all be in the same kin on the same server, so there are bound to be others who feel the same. However, there is no need to try and refute me as I will not be posting on server consolidation anymore. Now that I have unsubbed and gone Premium only Turbine can do what they want without it bothering me since I have no more investment in the game. I have already started investing my money in another game and am winding up my affairs in lotro. Any playing I might continue to do will only be on a casual basis.
And I said Turbine doesn't want to know about "minorities" of players, I never said they didn't want to know about lag issues!
