So, back at my server at ark , there's a player that says openly he reports poeple because he think they are macroing ...now i see this as a childish behavior, since it magically seems that all monters players that defeat this freep player are somehow macroing !!now i wonder if hes reporting are behind headed or is there some kind of protection or conter reporting tools to such players that are imagining stuff?
Don't know, but it's the same on my server. Creeps are convinced that freeps are exploiting because they're getting killed. Two people have been banned so far, as a consequence.
This is my concern , because this person seems to be out of control in accusing creeps just because he gets killed ...really don't want to see ppl getting banned from such a soreness about losing fightsQuote:

It seems this paranoia is on every server. Most of creepside on my server think I "Macro Exploit", what they mean by that I have no idea. Here are some facts that you should be aware of though.
1. Using macros is not against the CoC. You can even macro within the lotro client, but third party software is not against the CoC either.
2. You can't exploit with them anymore, that was fixed in update 12. something, not going to bother grabbing the link to the patch notes.
3. You can cut animations with instant skills, most notably on a warg or burglar. You can macro it if you wish and get around 8 skills off instantly. Or you can use your keys and do it in a little over a second if you're fast. So if someone does that to you and you can't fathom how they did that much damage and you say " He macros, report him!!!!!"-- You may be right, but reporting will do nothing since its not cheating.
So when people complain about people cheating with macros, again I have no idea what they mean.

Problem with macroing accusations is that most people aren't educated on them. I wasn't, but I learned. Once you run into a macroer, you won't confuse macroing and proper skill cutting again. About 75% of the macro accusations that I have seen have been incorrect. I would be legitimately surprised if Turbine actually banned anyone from macroing. They don't care about rank farming or multiboxing so I highly doubt that they care about macroing.

I can confirm that GMs will at the very least send warnings to players about the use of "macros" without actually having any proof of their use, as this has happened to me in the past despite the fact that I have neither a gaming mouse/keyboard nor any macro software or programs on my computer (and wouldn't know how to set one up if I did).
Presumably GMs have access to a players combat logs to at least do a cursory check on suspicious activity, but a combat log is far from a foolproof way to show someone is running a macro program, since everything that the type of macros in question here are capable of are fully doable by a person with their hands at a rate that a combat log won't be able to discern.
My anecdotal experience is that GMs simply respond to mass reportings. If a single person reports someone for Macro-ing, it probably goes nowhere, if enough people do, that seems to be enough for some to take action. In my case, two rather large PvP kins were apparently reporting me on the same day, including a number of people claiming in OOC to be reporting me, despite me not having even encountered them.
He (squanto007) is not wrong, actually. Everytime I see you post it seems as if your only intent is to be a jerk to others. There are several third party programs that are protected by the CoC and that players use on a regular basis. He could have worded it better but again, not wrong.Quote:
