so are you able to use this for destiny once you complete it?

Yes, you can continue to run the quest for DP but I am not sure you would want to. I used to think that getting 5K+ DP in a chicken quest was alot until I started playing a creep. I currently have 200K+ DP after playing a few weeks of PvMP and have spent twice that much across my 3 main creeps. I would suggest looking for DP in the Ettenmoors but thats just my opinion.
(the only problem might be needing to take a keep to get a place to turn in quests, which, after book 12, has been a problem unfortunately)
Ok, now I'm a lil confused. Do I HAVE to do all the chicken stones TOO to get the title? I didn't do the stones, just chatted with all the folks I was supposed to.
I only ask here, as "customer service" doesn't exist in this game ,via bug or GMs in game (tried both)...none of them could explain why I didn't have the title. But, in their defence I was given the "we'll look into it" line. Rolleyes.
btw/ completely unrelated note: I have the pic of it completed, and sent it in with the bug. I'd post it here, but can't seem to get the pic to post. Am I missing an obvious way to post pics?
Any help is appriciated..

Wow. I can't believe I'm actually done with it!
I needed to come here and say thanks to the OP, this walkthrough not only is amazing, but it actually is what got me interested in doing this. The tips on Possum Impersonation to the warnings about archers and respawn, down to the location of the stones....I couldn't have, and wouldn't have, done it without the help. So thank you.
Also to RonHiler for the Annuminas advice, you were spot on. Thanks!
Thanks to my kinsman Eske and Kiapan, for without them then the Ost Foroders or the Concur at Helegrod would be enjoying a tasty chicken sandwich right about now.
And to the bird on top of Weathertop that got within a hair of aggro range while my one minute /stuck timer was on - nice try, tweety bird. You scared the stuffing out of me, in a way that only Thrang and Thaurlach normally do. Which tells me that this quest is.....well.....awesome.

After months of fence sitting, I finally decided to try for the title and got it done on my first actual try! Over the last week I did do a couple of practice runs to places like Ost Forod though. I did a completely different order for most of the stones/animals, but there is a lot of different combinations there. I would like to thank OP for some of the harder to get to stone locations though. Anyone done the bitter stair without an escort? Thats the one spot I needed an escort on, I don't see anyway to get up there unless someone kills the mobs for you.
Its too bad, chicken's can't drink, cause i totally would of done the title as a drunken chicken, since I like to run around with my char a bit hammered. Raiding is 10 times the fun when your screen is all wobbly and blurry.

I also became interested in this title due to this walkthrough, thanks a lot! I finished it last night on my 4th attempt. My first attempt, I had to go to a hockey game and just didnt have time to finish, but all I had left was the Lone Lands, so I could've done it. Second attempt died going to Ost Forod cause I got careless near a wolf and looked down to switch to walk mode. Third try, my son printed a paper when I was near a bear in Misty Mountains, and when my printer goes off it minimized my LOTRO. Fourth try I made it.
I didnt arrange for an escort for any of it since all but the Bitter Stair is soloable, and you can always find people up at the Bitter Stair farming. On my trip to Ost Forod I ran into Jilla who escorted me from Oatbarton to Ost Forod without being asked, THANKS JILLA! I would've died near Ost Forod if she wasn't there.
I changed my strategy a bit from the walkthrough. I did Ost Forod first, because of the tip about going over the roof to solo Anuminas, Anuminas is easy. Ost Forod and the Bitter Stair are the hardest parts. So I go to Ost Forod first, then finish the rest of Evendim, then go to Rivendell (from Oatbarton) and do Bitter Stair. Also, after going to the Great Barrows and before I go to Trestlebridge to warp to Duillond, I did Wink the cat, the Prancing Pony stone, and the Horse at Hegstacer farm. So when you go to the Squirrel in Nen Harn, then you can go straight south to Sniken the neeker.

Just wanted to say thank you for such a great walk through. I wouldn't even have thought about attempting this if it wasn't for your guide.
Thanks again!
Oh and this needs a /sticky badly!

Did they fix the rooftop thing in Annuminas? Because for the life of me I cannot pull it off.
Did the quest last night and got the title. The rooftop thing still works, but you do have to be very selective where you try to jump up to get on the roof as well as where you walk on the roof. Walking on the roof pretty much has to be accomplished on the vertexes of the angles of the faces. If you try to walk up a face, you'll slide. You need to walk up the peak.

In my 2 previous attempts before success last night, I hadn't had anybody farming on the Bitter Stair. A pair of my kin who happened to be questing in the Misties came over and helped me when I mentioned I would be going through that area about an hour later. THANK YOU KSANDRA AND MCKAY!
I'm glad that I wasn't the only one that saw that doing the Cat, Pony and Horse between the Barrow Downs and Trestlebridge would allow you to go straight south from the Squirrel.
Order I did the stuff in:
This route took me less than 4 hours of /played which included a good amount of helping put the 3 month-old and 4 year-old son/daughter to bed.
- Bag End Stone
- Annuminas Stone
- Blue Lady Stone
- Longbough (Complete Evendim Animals)
- Ost Forod Stone (Complete Evendim Stones)
- /stuck (The run back to Oatbarton is quite lengthy with many stealthed mobs)
- Oatbarton Nest to High Moors
- Rivendell Stone
- Roheryn (Complete Rivendell)
- Gloin Camp Stone
- Helegrod Stone (Complete Trollshaws Stones ... with 2 of them being in the Misty Mountains)
- (would use /stuck here if the cooldown timer hasn't expired...might just wait for it to expire anyway next time)
- High Moors Nest to Oatbarton
- Mathom House Stone
- Old Sally
- Red Fox
- Wolf, Fang, Grip (Completed Shire Animals)
- Cow
- Brandywine Bridge Stone (Completed Shire Stones)
- Tom Bombadil's House Stone
- Great Barrows Stone
- Wink the Cat
- Prancing Pony Stone (Completed Bree-Land Stones)
- Horse
- Trestlbridge Nest to Duillond
- Duillond Stone
- Lynx Mother (Completed Ered Luin Animals)
- Kheledul Stone
- Thorin's Hall Stone (Completed Ered Luin Stones)
- /stuck (Otherwise you would run the entire length of Ered Luin)
- Duillond Nest to Trestlebridge (Walked through Needlehole)
- Fornost Stone
- Gatson's Farm Stone
- Aurochs Yearling (Completed North Downs Animals)
- Esteldin Stone (Completed North Downs Stones)
- Ram Duath Stone
- Aughaire Stone
- Nen Harn Nest to Malenhad
- Tyrn Lhuig Stone (Completed Angmar Stones)
- Malenhad Nest to Nen Harn
- Squirrel
- Sniken (Completed Bree-Land Animals)
- Forsaken Inn Stone
- Weathertop Stone
- Radagast (Completed Lone Lands Animals)
- Last Bridge Stone (Completed Lone Lands Stones)
The path from Longbough to Ost Forod doesn't seem to have any stealthed mobs or at least I haven't yet run across one that way. I hug the south face of the mountain as I'm coming into the town from the west. I also look at it as I got the Destiny points for Longbough at that point so the attempt is pretty much a wash if I get caught.
I had been planning on using /stuck at the Helegrod Stone, but my cooldown timer hadn't expired yet. My escorts were too good at clearing the path and if you didn't take note of your /played time when using the /stuck command last, you don't have any indication as to how much time you have left on the timer.

Wish I saw this walkthrough sooner. I did the Free Range quest completely solo, talking to all the NPCs, failing twice before figuring out the best method for each.
Then I wondered why, after talking to the last one, I didn't complete the quest!
Eight exploration deeds, Bitter Stair, Angmar?! What a load.. I want to do the chicken quest solo, not use an escort. That's so disappointing.
At least I know what I have to do for the title, even if I don't ever try it again. A very well-put walkthrough, wish I had seen it before trying. *mutter* *mumble* *mumble*
I play: Warden (retired), Hunter (retired), Captain (retired), Guardian (active main, Uxtalzon), Reaver, Defiler, Warg (retired), and chicken (always active)!
Graphics card busted :(
For what its worth you can do the vast majority of this solo, the only place you really need someone else is on the bitter stair for helegrod.

Anyone have ;loc coordinates for the chickenstones (and even NPCs)?
and... why does this thread keep falling off the front page?
IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A STICKY MONTHS AGO!!!
Not all those who wander are lost. They might be working on one of their exploration deeds.
The new forums stink on ice. Let others follow them who can.
Anybody tried this since Book 13? I tried to get up on that roof in Annuminas for 20 minutes, and couldn't. It doesn't look even remotely low enough to jump onto. Although I know of a few other jumps in the game that don't look possible, I can't seem to get this one.
**EDIT** My client crashed while attempting the jump and switching back and forth between the game and this board. When I relogged and restarted the quest, I was able to make the jump with ease. The "gutter" still looks way to high to jump onto, but you get some invisible footing halfway up. Not sure what the problem was on my first attempt. Am still on my second attempt as I type.

Well, I died on the bitter stair.
Note, however, that Ost Forod is not difficult to get solo if you approach from the west. If you leave the lake at the southern end of the sandy beach directly opposite the southern tip of Rantost (approx. 7.8S 68.8W), you can make your way east up the cliff face by continuing to go up as high as you can, then left, then up again. Eventually you will reach a gully running east-west from the top of the cliff down to beach. You can follow this all the way to the top along it's right (south) rim. When you get to the top of the cliff, you can follow it south and east, keeping to the extremity of its lip, without picking up aggro. It will eventually take you directly to Ost Forod, passing above the ruins of Tham Ornen. At that point, there are several patrolling wolves and brigands (some archers), but these mainly pat back and forth across the path and are easy to avoid. Most importantly, there are no stealthed mobs along this route.
I haven't tried free range chicken play yet, just finished all the "Flying the Coop" quests yesterday. I'm curious if anyone has notcied if the spamming of the play death skill still works to shed aggro. I snagged aggro on purpose a few times running through the shire on the "Flying the Coop" quests to see if it worked and not once was i able to shed aggro until i had run far enough away. I don't know if they have fixed this or if i'm doing something wrong.

Okay, I've not been able to find the rooftop thing for the Annuminas stone.
I found the statue and go east, but the next step is to find some building mostly submerged in the water... there are a lot of submerged buildings. I tried jumping around on each one but there doesn't seem to be any place to jump off of anywhere.
EDIT: Found the roof by reversing the instructions by finding the guard staring at a roof area with a spike on it. The description made me believe it was a building standing alone in the water, but it's just part of a much larger building. I still can't get on to this "Gutter" area, as I'd have to jump three times the height out of the water to land on something. Been screwing around for almost an hour and can't figure it out still, on either side.

The "Gutter" area for the Annúminas stone is actually an invisible ledge. I've only been able to get on it near the corner of the roof. Just keep jumping and pushing toward the roof at or near the corner, and you should eventually be standing out of the water.
