We are:
1. A casual kinship (meaning we are not hard core, not a heavy raiding or power leveling driven bunch).
2. Rank 10 and we have a kinship house.
3. Members of an alliance of several well known kinships and have a chat channel for use in organizing groups or other inter alliance communication.

Main Rules (see lorebook for the rest):
1. We expect you to respect others and refrain from using vulgar or profane language.
2. No Drama (no fighting or heated arguments).

We have no level, class or race requirements.

Contact
You can contact us on our new user channel bastionoflight

You can see the user channels you have joined by typing

You can communicate on the channel by typing a slash and the number of the channel and then the message
/1 hello
This says hello on the first user channel (number 1)
You can leave channels by typing

Note: You must sign up on our http://bastionoflight.guildlaunch.com web site prior to being added to the Kinship
in the game. This is to ensure you have read and agreed to our rules as part of the recruiting process.

Ask to speak to an officer or send Rmoin or Meriana a tell to request membership.

Meet & Greet
Our Meet & Greet will be held on Wednesday evenings at 7pm Pacific Time which is 10pm Eastern.
We will be holding it in alternating locations. Those locations are Bree, 21st Hall, and Galtrev.
Check on the bastionoflight channel for further details.

EU Group
There are a number of EU members that would like to increase the numbers in their time zone. Contact Petropete
or communicate on the bastionoflight channel to find an officer online when you are. We hope to have an officer
who plays in your timezone soon.

I can see a need for those skilled and knowledgeable in:
1. End game content
2. Lore knowledge
3. Role play skills
4. Expert with one or more classes
5. Communication skills
6. Organizational skills
7. Recruiting skills
8. Helping new players
9. Game mechanics / numbers / spreadsheets
10. Morale Officer (you have a particularly positive outlook
and can help balance some of inevitable complaining
11. Raid leader / organizer
12. Moors leader / organizer

I just felt the need to point we will actually still recruit you even if you aren't any of those people.
Also just because we are asking for people who can do certain things doesn't mean that the kinship doesn't currently do it. For example #8, we already are very helpful to new players we just want even more helpful people

We have recently been collecting a good number of characters level 20 - 40 so people in that range will have an easier time grouping.
We of course have players from all ranges and would love to accept you whatever your level is. We are starting to establish a stronger presence in the 50-60 range and once we a get a few more in that range we will start focusing more on raiding and PvMP.
Again if you need more info or think you would like to join you can /tell or mail Rmoin or Flossy in game.

I joined Bastion of Light a couple of weeks ago. Rmoin is a very good leader, and the kin has lived up to its billing of active, fun, casual and helpful. There are lots of new members; many new to the game at lower levels, but also a smattering at level cap. Join us! I look forward to helping new or experienced players level up, enjoy the content, and come up the learning curve. After recruiting a new member last night they asked me...
"Why did you post on the OOC? You don't need more members."

We are a well established and active kinship. That is the sort of kinship some new people are looking for. So I offer them an opportunity to join.

If you want to get in on the bottom floor there are plenty of kinships posting on the OOC that they are new. It's your choice.

I've backed off on advertising in the OOC (Out Of Character) chat channel to give us a chance to solidify relationships and to equip and train all our new members. But you are still welcome to join if you wish.

We are active. Everyone has a different definition for active so let me try to qualify that. When I sort the kinship listing by last time online, and I'm looking for someone who was last on 3 days ago. I have to go back between 7 to 8 pages in the kinship listing to find them. I believe each page has 20 characters in the list.

As of this posting we have 245 members. Since we are allowed 1500 members, I would guess we would be classed as small to medium in size.

We often lose chars as they reach level cap. They move on to join raiding focused kinships. I always miss them when they go but wish them well.

Today I feel like celebrating! Shenighami who first joined us in February 2009 (almost 2 years ago) has now returned to us with his Coordinator character. Welcome home Shenighami!

Oh by the way, I no longer bother with gtalk as it seemed to be a failed effort. We now have a kinship channel bastionoflight we can use to communicate with non members. See the original post in this thread for details.
