How do I fix this pile of polygons?

How do I fix this graphics issue?(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...untitled-6.jpg) I can hear sounds and what not, and interact with the UI, as well as log into the game and move around. I can do everything normally, but all of my graphics are a pile of unorganized polygons.

I've played LOTRO on this same computer some time ago, but didn't have this problem before. How can I fix it?

Re: How do I fix this pile of polygons?

I played World of Warcraft until just a month or two ago, and I could play it fine with no graphical issues what so ever. Lag now and then was my only problem. I used to play Final Fantasy XI as well, a while back. Here are my specs for video in a dxdiag(if you need further info just ask):

Well your video drivers are from 2003. They're over 5 years old and very outdated. The latest drivers from ATI for your video card are from 2006, which isn't much better. You can try to update the drivers to see if that will help. However, chances are that you'll need to get a better video card. While the video card may technically meet the minimum requirements for LOTRO, it still has to have a driver that can run LOTRO as well.

I see. How did you find out where my latest video drivers are? I'm not very good with finding drivers, so if you could provide a link that would be very helpful.

Dell's website has drivers from 2004, ATI's website has the 2006. Just go to http://www.ati.com and click on the graphics drivers link under the support section. Then input your OS and graphics card information and that will take you to the drivers for your video card.

sorry for the delay response but the above poster is right. I figured it was a GPU/driver issue.

I'm guessing by the the age of your PC's parts you do not like to upgrade but you can still get an AGP GPU (while they last) that will improve your PC's gaming ability.

Tomshardware.com has a list of the best AGP video cards made last year (most likely the last time they will be made).

You need a Direct X 9.0 compatible video system. your computer/video is too old to run this game. Sorry

Unless that is a desktop and not a laptop. Then you can go buy a newer AGP card.

Unfortunately, Hazmat is right. Your card handles DirectX® 8.1, not 9.0.
