    Song Compilation

This thread will (hopefully) be your source for instructions on how to play songs in game. This post will be updated with new song as they are posted, I will do my best to keep it up to date. If you have a request or submission, post it below. Print these out for easy access when in-game.
I use and recommend Psomm's keymapping:
QWERTYUI = Note 1 thru 8 (This is the low octave C to C)
ASDFGHJK = Note 17 thru 24 (This is the high octave C to C)
123 = Note 9,10,11 (This is low B and low octave black keys C# and D#)
    567 = Note 13,14,15 (this is low octave F#, G#, and A#)

Hymn to Joy by Ludwig van Beethoven:
    Compiled by Keln
    s(1+3 1+3 2+4 3+5 3+5 2+4 1+3 2112 1+3 1+3 22)
    s(1+3 1+3 2+4 3+5 3+5 2+4 1+3 2112 1+3 211)
    s(22 1+3 1 2 1+3 2+4 1+3 1 2 1+3 2+4 1+3 212) 5
    s(1+3 1+3 2+4 3+5 3+5 2+4 1+3 2112 1+3 211)
All of the numbers within the parenthesis preceeded by an "s" means hold down the shift key while playing them. Basically all notes in this song are done using the shift key except for the low 5 which is played without holding anything down. All "pairs" denoted by a #+# should be played at the same time, ei. 1+3 would be played by hitting the 1 and the 3 keys at the same time (yes while holding shift in this compilation). A simpler version of this song can be played by simple dropping the first number in each pair and playing the second. Example, to play a simple version of 1+3, drop the one and play only the 3. Also, I like to play the final note s1 as s1+3 because it sounds nicer.

    Danny Boy
    Compiled by worntraveller
8 and 1, for all purposes, are the same note, just an octave seperated. For notes below the root of the song, I'll use dashes to indicate they are in the lower octave. Maybe someone musically inclined can translate it to something undersdtandable ingame.
    C(7 1 2 3)

    2 1 C6
    Ca-all-ing,

    And down the Mountain Side,
    C(7 1 2 3)
    The Summer's gone,
    2 3 6 5 3

    2 1 C6

    'Tis you, 'tis you
    6 5 3
    Must go, and
    1 2 1
    I Must Bide.
The song continues similarly, except it starts on the 5th interval.

Being a jig (albeit a slower one) this should be played at a relatively quick pace. Imagine drums in the background. Ba bum bum bum bum Ba bum buddah bum bum...

Nice to see this re-posted, I had saved it from the old forum just in case you didn't get around to putting this back up. Thanks again.

Glad I found this, thanks all who took the time to translate. As I mentioned in a different reply, I will try to make use of the level cap when reached to practice my music, so this will help greatly. I may not have to find a cave to practice in, hehe. I just recently taught myself how to read regular music notation, if only it was this easy. giggle out loud.

    Re: Song Compilation

I'd like to suggest an alternate key-binding just so peeps have another frame of reference, please note that its arranged to keep proper hand position (i.e. index fingers on 'F' & 'J':
Notes 1-8 bound to keys asdf & jkl; respectively.
Notes 9-16 bound to keys zxcv & m,./
Notes 17-24 bound to keys qwer & uiop
I use Keys 1-0 and Keypad to bind a repeat octave, bass notes and sharps.

Here is an improvised arpeggio using this configuration:
    a,f,j,;,q,r,u,p,u,r,q,;,j,f,,a ,a

Yes you can with a program like GlovePIE BUT Turbine is checking with legal because they are checking if alternate input devices will be against their TOS. This mostly comes under things like the G15 keyboard which can record macros. Turbines TOS states that no macros or 3rd party software can interact with thier .exe. We are anxiously awaiting an answer on this because it could affect many people.
