Yeah I'm confused by the original post in what we should all be formatting our keys to in order to have consistency throughout the music community.

I have it so 1-8 is QWERTYUI in respective order
    9-16 is ASDFGHJK
    and 17-24 is ZXCVBNM,

thing bout this is it's just meh to go down to the bottom row keys.

oh and if anyone is a fan of the band Brand New and can get Play Crack the Sky down to be playable...well i'll just worship ya

    Notes 1-8: Q, W, E, R, T, Y, U, I
    Notes 9, 10, 11: 1, 2, 3
    Notes 13, 14, 15: 5, 6, 7
    Notes 17-24: A, S, D, F, G, H, J, K

12 and 16 are left out. So, if you're using this, E would be equal to note 3. 6 would be note 14. J would be note 23. The easiest way to remap these is to click red universal no on all of the music keybinds to erase them. Then, just go through until you get to 12. Skip over 12, then go until you get to 16. Skip over 16 and continue until 24. Done.

Very much looking forward to when percussion and bass instruments are added.

Wow, this is one of the most useful threads I have found on the forums, I just love the music system, keep up the good work with adding new songs. I just wish I knew how to do them on my own but you guys are a big help.

    Notes 17-24: A, S, D, F, G, H, J, K
It would be great if the songs that people have released so far were converted to this setup. I've tried to make sense of them but the standard key setup to this is pretty confusing.

    Re: Song Compilation

I'm not ingame, but I think Walk The Line would go like this (using Psomm's keymapping):

    AUASSSFDSA
    AUASSSFDSA
    ASDFFFHGFD
    AUYT SAUA

I haven't heard that song in a long time, but I think Cash transposes it a few times. If we assume that the above is the key of C, here it is transposed to F:

    RERTTT7YTR
    RERTTT7YTR
    RTY777SA7Y
    REWQ TRER

And this should be the transposition to G:

    T5TYYYIUYT
    T5TYYYIUYT
    TYUIIIDSIU
    T5EW YT5T

    Re: Song Compilation

Okay so I got to thinking that a lot of these songs we have on page 1 aren't even in the psomm or whatever format. The best one on there is Eyes On Me which I can impress people with playing

I untranslated the mario bros theme into the format. I'll post it up later I have to find the sheet of paper.

What I'm getting at is some people with me should unscramble the songs we have on the front page into the correct format. I'll do Mario and try the Chocobo theme song.

Is it possible to do "One Winged Angel" or "Aerith's theme" from Final Fantasy 7? One Winged Angel might be rather difficult, but I believe Aerith's theme should be plausible.

    Re: Song Compilation

It's small and relative simple (let alone, pretty unheard of, but):

    Avril 14 - Aphex Twin

    u-e-t-te-e-s-i-u-t

    Two quick side-notes:
    1. This is technically out of tune because I didn't feel like mapping flats and sharps out.
    2. If they don't have a dash between them, they're played relatively quickly.
    3. yes, I know this seems like a lot of work for nothing, but it's 2 A.M and I'm bored.

Also.... due to boredom (again), I've written out some bass riffs of Tool.

    H. -
    W-H-F
    W-H-F-G

    Sober-
    (SW)-(SW)

    Schism-
    wyi-f-w-d-w
    wyi-f-w-d-w-g

    wyi-d-w-s-w
    wyi-d-w-s-w-f

    46&2-

    w-s-w-as-w-ds-w-as-w-us

    (It's pretty off, I know.)

    (guitar) Pu####, live version -

    w-h-r-h-t-h-q-ht (3x)

    w-h-r-h-t-h-thtq-htq (1x)

    w-h-w-h-r-h-rhr-t-h-tht-q-htq (repeat this for rest.)

    (guitar) lateralus -

    w-h-g-h-k-h-h-g-h-g-s (3x)

    w-h-g-h-k-h-h-g-h-g-s-t-h-r-h (repeat for rest).

    Re: Song Compilation

    IMPORTANT EDIT: I have my keymapping like this (1-8 = Q-I) (9-16 = A-K) (17-24 = Z-,)

For Those Who Have Been Asking:

Okay. After some work (and I thought I had it once, but now I really do, I swear) I have managed to transcribe Dust in the Wind by Kansas for in-game usage.

Two letters together is a chord, because chords are necessary in this song.

Here we go. This is the intro piece.

    QZ E Z QU E U QX E X QZ E Z
    YU E U YX E X YZ E Z YU Y U
    QX E X QZ Q Z QU Q U QX Q X
    YZ Y Z YU Y U YZ Y Z YZ

There you have it. Timing is a little off, because there are in-between notes when it's played on the guitar that you can't make the music system do. It would be a little better if we had a third octave available, but this is definitely workable and sounds pretty good, too!
